James and the golden watch chapter 3 by Ellis
All morning,John was lying down depressed on the cold wooden Floor. On the other side of the room James was passing round the room trying to find a way out.
James didn’t give up he banged on the wall as loud as he could.James pushed bricks and shouted at the top of his lungs through a minuscule window that was to small to wriggle through. The main road was to far away.
Quite often,James had a go at John,”If you carry on sitting there like a sloth we’re going to die!”shouted James.John just ignore James and carried on lying there sad.James tried pushing the door down.
James spun round as fast as a cheetah and catapulted his anger strait on John “I can’t do this on my own so you might as well get up!”yelled James.John shaked his head.
“There’s no use we’re stuck the door is firmly locked.”John said slowly.
“Well if you tried we might of got out by know.”declared James shaking his head.
The children lay in silence and James was tapping the floor with his fingers and feet. There was know way out.Inside there was hardly any light and the fire had know coal.Outside the streets were empty like a ghost town.
Just befor James was about to fall asleep he neared a growl. As fast as a blink of a eye,James ran to a small hole in the wall and saw Max.”Need ticks.”said Max collapsing to the ground.James stretched his arm through the hole as far as he could but it wasen’t enough.Suddenly John jumped up and gave James a boost and he grabbed the wind up key from Max’s neck and winded up Max.
In a flash, Max dropped the gold crusted key in James’ parm.”Let’s go.”spoke Max stretching his back legs to run as fast as light.
Slowly James turned the gold crusted key in the dusty old door. For a moment it felt like the door wouldn’t open but in relief it clicked and they both peered round the corner. And Max jumped out and ran as fast as a Athlete and in seconds James and John were sprinting after him.One hour later they were hiding out in a old shed and John went and got some fire wood. When they were warm with a blazing fire they know felt safe.Max had to lurk in the shadows to not get caught by the professor. They were safe but was Chris safe?
