Chapter 4

Lily dreamed. A soft low voice called her whilst she was running down a long pitch black corridor with not a single light. But she was going closer and closer as the voice got louder. It was her mother’s voice, Lily was sure. She still tried to see her but 9 years ago she had passed and all she could remember was a weird shape, a blurred outline, the feeling of hotness and that voice something weak. It was as if a part of her had disappear.

In an instant. Morning sunlight filtered through the wooden slats of the barn. Robert slept but Star was washing and wiping his fur. He paused half way through and stared at her with his cobalt eyes nearly closed. Lily slowly crept over and began to wind the brass key. After a while, he stretched mumbled. “That’s better. By all that tick and tocks, it’s time to get back what’s rightfully yours.

Immediately, the airship rose off the ground, into crisp morning air. The three companions watched as the professor stamped foot in anger and bellowed insults up at them, shaking his fist threating to punch them. Lily and Robert stood on deck watching the professor shouting in anger and flying across villages and towns as the wind hugged Lily and Robert. As they thought about the future not the past.
