Prologue

You’ve probably been to Cheeire-on-sea.In summer you probably saw your kids playing in the sand whilst you sat on a deckchair.When you came here you probably went to the gift shop full of stuff you will never use.You might of went into the sea trying to jump over the waves and seen lots of people building sandcastles.

But in winter you probably felt the cold wind as it gave you goosebumps on your arms.And no one on the beach.When the mist comes out  some people lock themselves in their house.

Chapter 1

My name is Alberto and I work in the seaside hotel.Most people call me Albie.I am the hotel’s cleaner.I clean toilets.People think that being a cleaner is a bad job but i like it.I have a little room I call my home.It is really nice when people come in the summer but it is not like that in the winter.

A boy taps on the window and shouts”Let me in” . I stare at his scared face, not sure what to do. It is midnight and all the shops are closed. He looks so cold that I open the window  and he leaps inside and shouts “Help me”.

Before I continue with what happens next,there is one story about our town  that I should tell you. It happened so long ago I can’t even remember when it happened. People say that a green monster comes out  of the shows.

Some say the creature must be in pain some people say it looks for food some people say it eats the fishmen that work on the sea deck

But when the fog comes out everybody locks their doors.

“Why do you need help?”I shouted back at him.”What’s the matter?” 

“I’ve seen it!”HE says”Look sharp-lock the door!”
