Chapter 3 – bunnymander’s egg

Chapter 3

A week passes by and we rest in the secret room. I check the cameras to see if anything is happening. I slouch on the cosy sofa and we play uno while waiting for the coffee clock to TINKLE! Outside, thunder throttles the sea. Inside, the warm chill of the heater keeps us fluffy and warm. “Out!” Ralph screeches and it makes my ear almost deaf. “Now we need to take this danger seriously.” Why now, I think. “I know how to find it!”

It seems  that Ralph has consumed his days in the frosty cold, searching around the beach. He has seen some big footprints, just the size as the one we saw last time in the dark deep forest.

I grump in anger, but I eventually agree. We make sure all CCTV cameras are on so no customers come in. Before we leave, I check if my door is locked so nobody can break into my shop.

The storm snarls and all the shops close till it’s midnight. It seems like we have nowhere else to hide. We notice a trail of spiked

wire directing us to a sign which says ‘Warning, No Passing Zone.’ A tremble whizzes down my neck, so I pluck at Ralph’s

hoodie telling him to run. Hazard awaits. Yet with no doubt, Ralph carries on. He is brave but mindless and I have no option

but to lead him. We graze over the sign and stroll into shade.

To be truthful, I didn’t care about Ralph at first, but the horrifying path of blood was inevitable. From the point

We trample over the Warning sign into the old abandoned

Hospital, the gooey import travelled, building a trail. It guide to a big tunnel in one of the doors. “What are you waiting for? This is the part I’ve been waiting for!” shrieks Ralph, Raising one arm into a tunnel of slime. I Could’ve been waiting for this moment, but my idea tells me that this won’t end well.

The abandoned hospital was gloomy. Absolutely gloomy. It sounds like a ghost screeching as loud as a lion. Stones shimmer in the daylight. My lungs thump as we creep ahead, gazing. Just as I’m believing that there is nothing and beginning to feel glad, Ralph figures it out. There, in a recess, is a gigantic nest of beach-worn woods, old cloth and wool. Inside the nest is a massive egg, shining pitch black. We pause and glare in fear. The bunnymander has an egg.

That second, a sensing torment sprints throughout my

Body. My arms began to shiver, somehow. I pluck Ralph’s

Right hand turning him away from the shining egg. I don’t

Want to be here again. In a rush, we try to leave the hospital,

But metal bars of a cage crumpled from above, capturing us

both . We hear an unknown “ARRRRR” coming from behind

The nest. Ralph drags my arm in terror. This is the first time

I have seen him in horror I have seen him scared, so things have

Been a serious turn. The wind turns bitter, damp drips from above us. We raise our heads to a sprinting creature  through the door, and before we know it, chasing us fast as a flash.
