Chapter 4
Fear shoots down me, I am ready to go. Then I noticed the green grassy coloured scales of the egg shiver for a second… The hatching is near.
The snakemander stares in our eyes, Maudie stares back and says “It’s ok we won’t hurt you or the egg.” The creature let go of us and let us pass.
The creature rattles its tail in friendliness and we wave back at it and the majestic egg. We’re safe, I thankfully say to myself.
Outside I thankfully sigh that we came out in one piece. Inside I hear the snakemander wrap around its egg for its safety.
Alfred (the hotel’s butler) is setting out deckchairs hoping people will come for a swim. Dylan’s Delicious Diner is opening, you can see him frying some golden crispy fish. Samuels sea experience shutters are coming up, you can see him feeding the mandarin fish.
I mess around with the keys until I get the right one, then I open the door. I sniff up the air of the alola GYM. I think to myself how will the snakemander keep control of its offspring.
The next day maudie stayed in books about the snakemander, then she says “Here it says that miners used to believe in a mysterious creature that would take copper ore for its nest like the snakemanders nest.” “and any one who tried to take the egg would never be seen again…”.
I believe the journey continues.
