Chapter 4

I cannot get out of this forest.Dani is exhausted and so am I. We were both trying to get out of the forest but now we can’t because tree trunks are blocking the exit. Dani creeps towards the Hedgeamander and talks to it in a low soft voice “We won’t hurt you.Don’t worry.” He says whilst stroking it.It lifts it’s paws up and jumps up and down.I can tell he is frightened by his facial expressions but he is trying to disguise that and stay calm.It had creme and hazel paws which shoved the tree trunks and the little faint line of light grew bigger and bigger which creates a path that lets us escape.

Outside we wave our last goodbyes and stroke the Hedgeamander as we walk down the path of leaves.Inside the Hedgeamanders egg cracked open and two Hedgeamanders are rolling about on the floor.We walk past the beach and everyone is active. Mr Fani is preparing his furniture shop, Mrs Amber is preparing her food for her takeaway and Mrs Moniqye is switching her sign to open.

I unlock the door and shove it open.Inside it is freezing but feels odd.I go and check if the booth is ready in preparation for customers but my mind still has questions. Is it safe for the Hedgemander to be here?Is the baby Hedgeamander ok?Have they come out of the forest?

All day Dani  is  sat next to the heater with his face in books all about monsters from the hazy-sea library.He stopped on page 478.It is a story of somebody digging in a forest until they dug so deep that they found a lilac egg covered in leaves.They decided to stay there until it hatched but no one heard about the person since…

We both have decided this adventure is not done.It has not even made it half way.
