Billie Ashcroft ( a young girl ) did not want to leave home. She sat there as still as possible thinking about home . It was quite nice where she lived,she could see the sun gleaming off the lake.She squeezed  her fist and stomped her feet. She just wanted to be a happy family! Billie stayed in the attic where Mrs Crawley’s Grandson  used to stay. Whenever she would talk about him she bursted into tears, Billie was curious why but she wasn’t going to get into Mrs Crawley’s business. She kept on mentioning about the war, or every conversation would turn into talking about the war.Billie didn’t really want to know about that she would think about her family and get tears in her eyes.

Billie had her first school day there, she made a new friend called John but the weirdest thing about him was they had the same last name but they’ve never seen eachother in their life. Mrs Cook was trying to keep them away from each other and didn’t want them to be friends. At lunch time on school days they got to go home. Billie would get a bowl of salad and go back to school. She didn’t really like the school because it was quite hard and she was the dumbest kid in her class ( she was the worst at math ). As soon as the school bell rang she would run out the door straight to her new room and look at the photos of her and her family. She would cry at the photos, what people didn’t know about Billie is that she would get very badly bullied in her new school by a girl named Angela. Angela thought she was the best at everything because Billie wasn’t smart enough to answer the questions.

Everyday Mrs Crawley tells Billie the same thing:  “don’t go in my room; don’t go in my bathroom; don’t get food out the cupboards when i’m not here and especially DON’T GO THROUGH THE CUPBOARD NEXT TO MY BEDROOM!” Saying stuff about the cupboard made Billie really curious. She didn’t really care about the other rules, but that one about the cupboard went straight to her head like a cheetah running up a tree! What if it’s about her family? What about if it’s another dimension? What if I could get back to my home and family ? What is this secret?

 One night Billie saw something while she was climbing down the stairs (in the middle of the night to go to the toilet) she could see something in the distance. It was Mrs Crawly going through the cupboard with a lantern. When she opened the cupboard door Billie saw something drag her in it, but she also saw something else. It looked like some snow fell out of it but before she could get there it melted away.BIllie was so tempted but she knew she couldn’t go in just yet. So she went to the toilet and got back in bed.She knew one day she had to go through that cupboard, but before that she had to tell John…..
