The Massacre at nightfall
Olivia stared down at Keiko, putting her utmost effort into making a decision. He stared up at Olivia, pulling off the look to show that he doesn’t know what to do either. He placed one of his furry, menelistic paws on Olivia’s freezing lap, gazing into her dark, coca-coloured eyes. She had made a decision. She would tell Mrs Ezmerelda for Keiko’s protection, but for now she decided to explore merrily, catching critters and having their own made up adventures and games, they had made a game called “Catch and Chase” were they would chase each other, most of the time Keiko won of course. After a few hours of playing, they heard a noise. It was a blaring sound, and it caused Keiko to whine in despair.
“Wait here Keiko,” Olivia whispered into his floccose ear as she stood up and cautiously crept to the home. She quickly grabbed a stick from a nearby tree and opened the door. Layla was standing there. She was talking to Miss Ezmerelda, a sinister grin plastered on her face, while Miss Ezmerelda looked emotionless. As soon as Layla noticed Olivia had arrived, she ran towards an opened window and jumped through. Miss Ezmerelda made no attempt to block her exit but she did give Olivia a threatening glare, Olivia took no notice, her mind was clouded with curiosity but her vision clouded with anger. She let out an annoyed sigh before she ran to Keiko and clambered onto his back. Keiko understood quite quickly, as if he was telepathic, and he rushed after Layla, charging after the terrified young lady. Olivia knew those games would come in handy at one point. They were pursuing her and were winning. Layla finally gave up and froze in her stance, she raised her arms slowly and dropped a small piece of paper that she had in her hand. Keiko stopped abruptly beside her and let out a small growl of frustration because his little game was over, he then allowed Olivia to slide off his back. Olivia’s mind was flooded with questions, however, one kept on playing in her mind. What was she doing in her house- and why was she talking to Miss Ezmerelda?
Olivia just glared at Layla, she was furious. Furious that Layla had been talking behind her back. Furious that Miss Ezmerelda didn’t say anything to her about these encounters that were going on in the night. Just as she was about to utter a word or two, Keiko purred. He was rolling around, clutching onto something in his robust paws. Olivia took a glance before gently removing it and taking a small look inside. It had pinpointed a circus. So, was this Layla’s plan? To manipulate Miss Ezmerelda into selling Keiko off to a circus?! Olivia glared at the paper, then threw it onto the ground and stamped on it in rage. She wouldn’t let Keiko be taken by some monsters! No matter how much they pleaded or offered Olivia was never going to give him up, or let him down. As soon as Layla had abandoned Miss Ezmerelda, Olivia stormed into the house.
“Why were you talking to that flagitious human being!?” Oliva questioned, standing there, expecting a valid answer. Miss Ezmerelda froze with a frightened appearance on her face. She turned pale. “C’mon, speak! I need an answer right this instant!” Oliva continued. She had to enunciate eventually.
“I-I’m so sorry dear…” Miss Ezmerelda responded, tearing up, creating a mass of tears beneath her. What had happened? Why was she crying? What was she hiding?
“Sorry for what? Oh, betraying me? Luckily, I will forgive you this time, however if it happens again, you will be paying the consequences.” stated Olivia, no happiness could be found in her voice. She rolled her eyes, pondering on how Miss Ezmerelda was playing the victim. She stormed off to her room then all of a sudden, Keiko was growling and howling. Olivia peered out of the opened window, only to see Keiko being dragged out by some random blood-curdling men. Oliva began to tear up as she ran down the stairs, she pushed past Miss Ezmerelda contemptuously and followed them quietly. Layla forced Keiko to allow her to clamber onto his now bruised back and ride him, merrily giggling as they took him. Olivia couldn’t bare this any longer. She caught Keiko’s attention and signaled him to attack, and so he did. He attacked them all. Olivia stared at the gruesome sight, smiling as Keiko growled in victory, but as he was going to finish Layla off, Olivia ordered him to follow her with Layla tied up. Covered in unknown people’s scarlet coloured blood, Layla was being carried on Keiko’s back, she was protesting but her screams were ceased with a small purple cloth. They arrived at an ancient cave, covered in emerald moss and viridescent ivory. Layla was strapped down into a chair. Olivia generously removed the cloth from Layla’s mouth. Words began to pore out from Layla’s mouth, memories about her and Olivia. However, now they meant nothing to Olivia. She put a metal-like hat on Layla’s head and whispered goodbye before thrusting the rusty lever down. Layla managed to scream once before all her words, actions and breaths stopped, even her heart. Layla was dead, for good. Olivia giggled as she patched up Keiko’s many wounds and stood beside him, leading him out.
Oh, by the way, My name is Olivia Hollow.
