Chapter 3: Escape,hide and run
Popkin awoke with an alarmed look on his face with his paw’s chained to a cold, stone wall. “Twix! Twix!”whispered Popkin, shaking Twix.
“What…wait…oh no!”, Twix said with a worried face. Dook was still asleep (like always), resting his head on the muddy, stone floor. Popkin, who could hear voices, laughs and smelled strong smoke, tried to slide his hands through the iron cuffs that forced them to stay.
“We can’t get out! we’re trapped!”. With that, Dook awoke and started to cry in fear.
“Keep that rat quite!”, demanded a grating voice echoing from up stairs. Dook stopped and looked around.
“Key! Key!”,Dook said pointing to a shining object.
“Yes good job, good job indeed,” Twix spoke, reaching for the key. Twix managed to reach the iron key and unlock all three cuffs. “This way”, said Twix carrying baby Dook and heading to a tall, rotting door.
Then, the three rabbits tiptoed through the dingy, dark hallway like little mice. “Look”, Popkin said pointing to a white light shining through the hallway.
“Not that fast!”, said a voice emerging from the dark. With a thud, Popkin was dragged to the floor while the voice grabbed Twix and Dook. Looking around, Popkin hit the Gorm with a chair, knocking him out! “Let’s go”,said Popkin, running with Twix and Dook.
“What now?”, said Twix confused. Popkin ran back in and took a golden horn. He blew it, making a loud, painful noise echoing throughout.
“Nothing, what now!”, spoke a disappointed twix.
Suddenly,BOOM! A red fire dragon landed signalling them to jump on. The three rabbits got on and flew away hearing the shouts of the Gorm behind them. After a while, they arrived home, thanking the dragon as it flew off. “Mother? Auntie Tulip?” spoke Dook. Through the mist emerged their mother, crying with joy; auntie Tulip was behind her.”Mother!”, they all screamed running to hug them both.
