Chapter Three-A little nightmare

Chapter Three – A little nightmare

The three little rabbits ran through the swamp. Deep inside them the fear started to rise and their hearts were beating fast. However, the three knew they had to reach the city or else they would become the Gorms lunch!

After a while they stopped to catch their breath. Luckily, they had reached the edge of the city and found a bench to rest on for a few minutes. Chris (the oldest) had found a wagon filled with radishes and started loading a brown, leather sack with them while the others found a brick house with boarded windows. Once the group had been reunited they lit a fire that ignited easily. Little did they know the Gorm doesn’t leave an animal uncaptured.

A few hours  had passed and soon enough the three rabbits were fast asleep. The next morning the band awoke and peered through the small gaps in the boarded windows. Outside the air was still but cold. Inside the remaining flames of last night’s fire was enough to keep them warm for a few more hours before going out. It took a while for them to realise the silence was unexpected and suspicious. They opened the old, oak door which made an unbearably, high pitched SCREECH! On the other side the only sound was the cawing of the crows above. The streets were empty, only clothes remained on benches and in cars.”Look!” exclaimed Mia, Chris and Pip darted over to find a red liquid stained into a polo shirt laying on the sidewalk. However, walking outside was a mistake.

Suddenly, there was a loud CLUNK! CLANK! CLANK!

“Gorm!” cried Mia “There here! Run!” In an attempt to escape they discovered they couldn’t. Three giants encased in metal chunks surrounded the trio. “What now?” questioned Chris. The Gorm was taking steps closer.

“I don’t know!” answered Mia. All of a sudden, the Gorm scooped up the rabbits and flung them into a cage. The impact of hitting the steel bars of the cage caused them to feel dizzy and confused, soon enough they fell unconscious unaware of what was going to happen next…
