Scottish Highland Cat

Scottish Highland Cat

Ghost-white whiskers,
curve in the gentle breeze.
The highland-walker’s nose,
slightly damp, it twitches quickly.

Fur matted and thick,
it hardly moves.
Its teeth covered in plaque like a yellow bone,
but as pointed as a sharpened knife.

Peering happily,
the highland cat’s pupils gnaw down,
creating a slim onyx-black strip.
Poised on the clay perch it shrieks,
infusing fear across the Scottish lands.

Slowly striding,
the Scottish-hunter’s long tail curls up,
like a harsh leather whip.
