Hedgehog

Hedgehog

Hedgehog, hedgehog who made your eyes so intricate?

But your senses are astounding,

will they come to your knowledge?

Hedgehog, hedgehog, why are you the swamp-swimmer?

Might you be aware of the distance you can travel?

Do you get terribly tired of the stubbiness in your legs?

Hedgehog, hedgehog, why are you so bold to the intruders that interfere?

Whose spikes are like needles in one’s skin.

When exposed, will they come to your aid?

Hedgehog, hedgehog who completed you to be like a woodlouse?

And as heavy as a bag of flour,

may change the way people look at you?

Hedgehog, hedgehog why do you scurry out at night?

In the hour midnight, do you scamper through the streets?

Why do you dare to go at night instead of seeing places in daylight?

Hedgehog, hedgehog why do they call you the beetle-chewer or worm-kidnapper?

Wouldn’t you like to munch on a feast?

Could you, maybe, be a wild beast?

Hedgehog, hedgehog why, are there so many of you?

Are you called the group-runner?

Or do you like to not be alone?

  1. Hello Alexa! I can see how your writing is improving. I really liked the verse about the spikes of the hedgehog and how they use them to defend themselves.
I wasn’t sure about the last verse , these days there are not so many of them- it is a rare treat to see one!
