Chapter 3

chapter:3

Struggling to open her eyes, she woke up. She had realised she was in the exact same stop as she could remember, an old building where there were cracks on the walls, which were climbing up; dead weeds, which had sprung up along all of the walls, and broken glass was scattered everywhere. She nudged against the Elephant to wake her up. She ripped her eyes open and looked at Lily. The Elephant let out a croaky groan. Lily gasped.

She picked her and the Elephant up off the floor and brushed off little pieces of rubbish off her trousers. Her and the Elephant doodled around the building, hoping to find a better hiding spot to stay. All of a sudden, Lily saw a guard, who carried a torch [ that kept flickering ] searching around. She walked up to this cornered area and knelt down. Lily noticed some kind of map on the floor that looked like it had been dropped by a guard. She didn’t know what it was but she put it in her pocket just in case.

All of a sudden, something entered the building. There was silence, a feeling of someone watching. Sun light shot through the dark: creaking floorboards, the security began to search the building. Lily saw shadows crawling around the floor and felt a shivering sharp wind race through the open door. Shivering, she snuggled with the warm ears from the Elephant. They could just wait here and be painted until the guards get past.

At that moment, it clicked. Because Lily found out what the map was, her mouth dropped. It was the map to the gateway. She grinned, she knew she was going to get out of here. It was at St Peter’s church, an old ancient place. They figured it out.

Lily dragged the Elephant outside the building they were hiding in. As Lily marched down the high street she pulled out the map. She looked up and down and realised she was on the right track.
