The Catappilar

The Catappilar

The Caterpillar lives in the land of Neverbelieve. It is half cat and half caterpillar. It is red, blue, green and orange. It has a cat’s head, paws and tail and has a caterpillar’s body and feet. It’s prey is Leaf-Mice and it’s predators are Lakes (lions and snakes!)

Generally, it lives in the deepest part of the Everbelieve jungle. In the winter, it burrows down deep into the ground and hibernates because curiously, it doesn’t like the cold. On the other hand, when it’s summer, it comes out of hibernation and catches all the leaf-mice it can get.

Unfortunately, there is only one Catappilar left on Neverbelieve, since all the others got attacked by Lakes. In the summer, it lives in a nice, warm cave. Despite the Lakes, it’s daily routine is: wake up, eat, sleep, wake up, eat, sleep , wake up, eat and sleep.

The Storm Pegasus by Charlotte

Have you ever heard of a Storm Pegasus? Most people haven’t heard or seen them ever before. They are extremely rare but very beautiful and important because they create and stop storms.

Storm Pegasi live in herds of 10 or more on huge clouds of gray, silver and white, on the edge of the earth’s atmosphere. They live on the banks of rivers and streams that run through the clouds.

These mystical creatures are dark dappled gray. Their bodies are covered in scales because they are always flying through water (like flying fish). They have ivory coloured mains and tails and huge webbed wings.

The storm Pegasi don’t eat much as they can survive off water for months on end. However they do eat cloud tufts – magic cloud grass – and flying frog spawn when its in season.

Although they live in herds, they fly solo. When they are happy they live quietly but when they are angry they build up rage until a storm breaks. They can control the weather and can calm down a storm in a split second when they have calmed down!

The sunbeam unicorn

The snow pegs can fly with it’s frosty wings that glitter in the sun. It has a Snow White layer for horse hair and a gorgeous tail and it’s made for sparkling ice crystals. It will generally eat little children that get lost in the snow.

The Isle of Everbelieve is in danger

The Isle of Neverbelieve is in danger, we need your help

It is hard to imagine the world without the Isle of Everbelieve. Sadly, it may come true!

In the Isle of Neverbelieve, people are throwing rubbish in our beautiful rivers and chopping down our stunning trees. Would you like this to happen to your island?

The Starflower, which only grows on Everbelieve, produces sap for important medicine. Alarmingly, people are coming and chopping the heads of the flowers, stealing the sap and selling it to make medicine.

Th Air-trees (which provide oxygen) are being chopped down! The thieves are selling these magnificant trees to faraway planets and earning a fortune.

The rubbish in our lovley rivers are making the rare Tulip-Turtles be on the brink of extinction, which means there won’t be as many rare species in the world, as the Isle of Neverbelieve is one of the only places in the world that has rare species.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Setting out

At last, they stepped out of Redmead Dam, never to return.

Earlier that day, in the underground city that they called home, a message arrived for the Redmead beavers, informing them that the Crance were planning to make their dam part of their empire. The beavers were terrified, as they had seen what happened to those who were part of the empire. Rock began to slowly creep along their face until a good chunk of fur was stone and their minds were polluted with evil thoughts. And then, the decision was made. They would leave. They would all go to a safe place somewhere else and rebuild. The plan was to go to Castomela, an island southwest of Longerhan. However, one old she-beaver knew that even though they would be safe in Castomela for a while, the Crance would track them down, and although there were good warriors in Redmead, the Crance were better. And so it was that the she-beaver packed some food and sent her three kits out on the long journey through the Crance empire, beyond the dangerous Florock mountains, where bandits would swipe your things and be a mile away with them before you could say Jack Robinson. And then they would reach the safe city of Frache, where nobody went unless they needed to escape. This was where the Crance couldn’t go.  The trip would take months, and they would never see her again, but it was safe. So the young kits Pirrip, Pora and baby Pinge left the dam and set off across Longerhan.

First they had to cross the great ravine a few miles from Redmead. They were halfway across the rickety rope bridge when  it started to creak. Pora was terrified, and decided to run across the bridge and leave before it broke. She tucked Pinge under her arm like a rugby player and bolted. Soon she was at the end. However, strategic Pirrip thought that he should edge along slowly and stay balanced. But then he realised he didn’t have time for safety, and time was ticking. The bridge creaked loader, and Pirrip made a dash for it. He ran and ran and he could hear the rope bridge breaking behind him. He didn’t usually run around and do sports. Pora was the energetic one. He just read books and could usually be found in the library reading. But now he could see why Pora ran so much. It did feel good. As he reached the end of the bridge where his siblings were waiting for him, Pora clapped him on the back and said ‘Good job, but we need to get a move on, the Crance could be anywhere!’ Pinge cooed in agreement and Pirrip nodded, too out of breath to speak. So they trekked on to Bluesand Lake, and cooked some fish as they agreed they needed to save their mothers food for later. They dug a hole under a nearby tree and finished just as it started to drizzle. Pora struggled to sleep, tossing and turning with the bulky stone bodys of the Crance and her mothers last look as they crawled out of the secret tunnel by the dam leading to Redmead. Would they ever reach Frache in one piece?

DEVIL UNICORNS SPOTTED!

Exclusive report written by Sadie Smith, Deadly Creature Correspondent, The Deadly Daily.

Early this morning, Jassy Jones, a local doctor, saw a single Devil Unicorn wandering around a nearby church.

Jassy, who was strolling down the road with her shopping at the time, witnessed a venomous creature wandering amongst the gravestones. She told the Deadly Daily that this species looked harmless until a deadly snake appeared from it’s horn. Jassy also told us, “This animal was chewing on the remains of angel wings.

Yorkshire police have made locals aware that this marvellous animal is on the run. Be careful when visiting the church. Jim Brown, the unicornologist, told us that he may have seen a family of Devil Unicorns in the deep dark woods. Jim believes that the poisonous green trolls are hunting this rare animal which is why there have been so many sightings well the Devil Unicorn is trying to escape the trolls.
