Mask in colour

I wore the red mask and saw,

A blood chilling sunset and a fire engine racing down a town street.

I wore the black mask and I saw ,

A car tyre rolling around a neighbourhood,

A shadow from an unknown person and a bat flying in the night sky.

I wore the pink and I saw,

A field full of tulips that were swaying in the breeze.

I wore the blue mask and I saw ,

A kingfisher diving into a lake ,

The ocean crashing on to  rocks and heard a woodpecker humming in the distance.

I wore the yellow mask and I felt joy and respect ,

A butterfly flying from branch to branch and a star starting to take its form.

Explain why I ended up in a whale’s stomach

It was a cold, wintery, blustery day, and I was beginning to wonder as we bobbed from side to side why I thought it was a good idea to go on a whale spotting trip. The captain shouted ” Whale’s” I ran to the side of the boat, a wave that felt like a tsunami wave which knocked me into the whale’s mouth. I went in like a torpedo and was catapulted about like a sardine in a tin can. I opened my eyes, and all I could hear was the whooshing sound of water, I’d arrived in the whale’s stomach!

The Evil Emporium chap.4

Chapter 4- You’re back.

Vincent opened his eyes after he had heard a roar. He had shot a blast of fire through the beast’s neck. As fast as a hare, he ran to the kitchen where the portal is, well, where the portal was. It had disappeared. Vincent gasped before sliding down the wall, contemplating if he was OK or not. With tears threatening to fall, he got up and frantically searched the house for any signs of the portal. Just then, the demon that he thought he had killed before had gotten up again and was gliding right for him.

‘FLAME!’

Vincent looked in front of him only to find a portal with Mr. Silver standing next to it. The creature looked at Silver with guilty eyes.

‘I told you to leave people who enter these dimensions alone!’ Silver said firmly. Vincent stared in shock. Unfortunately, he didn’t see that Mr. Silver had walked through the portal with the creature behind him. ’Wait!’ Vincent shrieked, but he was too late.

Frustrated, he stormed out the kitchen to the back-garden. Vincent looked around hopelessly, until a small, bright light caught his eye. It looked like a glass shard, but glowing? He went to pick it up. As he stared at it, it grew and swallowed him whole.

The next thing he knew, he was back in the emporium. He got up and turned around to find Mr. Silver peering down at him. ‘So, you disobeyed my instructions,’ he said calmly.

‘I-I am so -s-s-sorry, I d-d-didn’t mean to,’ Vincent whispered as tears trailed down his face. Silver gave him a confused face. ‘Eh, I don’t mind, lots of people ignore me. You are extremely fascinating,’ he stated

‘I am?’ Vincent said confused as he tilted his head.

‘Indeed! You are the only person I’ve met that has magic, ‘Silver whispered excitedly. Dumbfounded, Vincent’s eyes widened.’ How the heck do you know?’ he questioned.

‘Oh, you’ll find out soon enough,’ Silver said with a cynical smile. ‘Very soon,’

As Vincent was walking to the emporium’s exit Silver called out, ‘Oh, and, by the way, sorry If I scared you before, I had just had an argument with…eh, someone! Anyway, come back again tomorrow!’

‘Mhm’ Vincent murmured as he walked down the streets of London, back to the orphanage he lived in. Little did he know a certain cat was following him in the shadows.

The Evil Emporium- Chapter 3

Chapter 3- Escape the nightmare

A smile. At that moment, Vincent felt happy. Then, he had an idea. He carefully treaded to the stairs and went up them. He walked down a long, dark landing to a plain white door. He opened it. It probably wasn’t there in real time, but Vincent knew this was in the past, before they found out he had powers. He looked around the room.

His bedroom.

It looked the exact same as he remembered it. The beige-coloured walls, his small bed in the corner next to the window, his piano in the middle of the room. He looked out the window. It was a bright sunny day, the perfect day for going to the beach. He was lost in nostalgia as he walked around, remembering all the good memories he had in that room.

He was snapped back to reality by the sound of a glass smashing downstairs. At this moment, Vincent would normally be engulfed in fear, but he was more curious than anything else. He exited his bedroom, trotted down the corridor and slowly and sneakily crept down the stairs. Vincent looked around.

When he turned around to back upstairs, he was met with two silver eyes. Vincent yelped backed into the corner of his living room. When he got a closer look at the ‘thing’, he noticed that it had: black skin with patches of grey; bright grey eyes that seemed to light up the now pitch-black room; razor sharp claws that were ready to scratch your eyes out; a sleek black tail that had a glowing orb at the end of it and a long, glowing white tongue that poked out its mouth. It looked like a very dangerous dragon. Vincent’s breath hitched as he saw that the dragon was walking up to him. It got its tail ready and…

BANG!

Said Linda with a good feeling.

“This way” said the baby bear. Linda closed the book and, without having a changes to think, striate. The baby bear ran done the stairs. It came to a strange door that has been freshly painted. It stood on the floor, put its head to one side and tapped on the door with its beak. Linda knew exactly what she was supposed to do. She opened the door and entered.

The Highland Dancers Emporium

Prologue

There are some places that everyone goes to like the shops, park or maybe a café but no one has ever remembered going into or for that matter seeing The Highland Dancers Emporium. On one interesting crisp December morning a young 15-year girl old called Katie was walking her normal route to the shops where she went every day to get the groceries for the orphanage that she lived in. There was something strange, it was a new building but not just any new building it was a Highland Dancers Emporium. Katie was a Highland dancer so before you could blink, she was in the shop. Suddenly she heard a deep voice shout, ‘GET OUT! WE DON’T OPEN TILL TWILIGHT!’ and then she knew it was no ordinary highland dancer’s shop.

Chapter 1: Never Touch The Book

That same day at Twilight she decided to go back to the emporium to investigate more. As she entered, the man in the dark grey suit with pale white skin and a mole at the bottom of his nose, she had seen earlier that day was still there and he said to her “You’re the girl from before aren’t you” she said nothing. He then said, “My name is Hendric Kensington I am the owner of this emporium. Please feel free to look around and go behind the curtain if you wish.” so Katie being the adventurous girl she is, went and WOW she was

amazed. There were rooms for the outfits, the dances, the dancers, practice rooms and festive routines rooms. She looked around and soon thought “Oh no Miss Jenkins is going to be wondering where I am I had better get back.”

The next day again at Twilight she went back, this time to ask Mr Kensington how he had built the emporium in such short time. He replied with “How did you come back?” she was confused but so was he. Katie exclaimed “What do you mean how did I come back?” He still looked shocked but whispered “No one ever comes back.” he then motioned for her to go with him, so she did. He led her into a back room and showed her a book that said on the front cover ‘The Highland Dancers Handbook’. She was so excited, she had never seen something like it before. It looked like it had been there for hundreds of years.

Mr Kensington then said, “I am going to let you in on a secret, but you have to promise you will keep it.” Katie nodded “This book is extremely important because, you know all those rooms, this is how they are made. The reason I was so confused is because I have never in all my years had someone come back twice so I thought that perhaps you might have the magic to write in the book so I will give you a try. You just write a room that is related to highland dancing.” Katie said, “Of course I would thank you so much.” so she wrote in

the book they then went to see the room and she was amazed. The room she wrote was about her and her achievements as a highland dancer now people could maybe actually acknowledge her. Mr Kensington soon after said “I will let you write in this book once a week only if you come and live at the emporium with me.” She nodded with a slight hesitation “Also never, I repeat never, write in the book without me.”

Chapter 2: Katies New Apartment

The next day Katie decided to go back to the emporium but this time it was to move in. She waddled along the road with all her stuff clutched between her arms Katie turned her back to the door and pushed it open and walked through. Mr Kensington was standing right in front of her, he said, “Come with me I will show you to your apartment.” then he slowly started to walk away, and Katie, followed they went behind the curtain and up the lift, to level 7 Mr Kensington had to put a code in to let them get out of the lift because it was staff only, the code was 142536, he told her to remember it or else she will not be able to get to her room. They then walked along a few corridors until they got to apartment 999 and he gave Katie a key and told her “Do not lose this whatever you do. If you need, I can get a key box for the outside of the door.” Katie replied with “Yes please I am terrible for losing things can the code

please be 1245.” Mr Kensington nodded. She went in and Mr Kensington walked back down the corridor it was a lovely apartment it had a small kitchen, a bathroom with a shower and a bath and then she saw the bedroom, but she could not take her eyes off the bed it was amazing, a double bed with four pillows on either side, five beautiful cushions and a fur blanket that was draped across the bed. She leaped onto it messing up all the cushions, but she did not care because this bed was hers. Once she had unpacked and settled in, she took her key, went out of her apartment and somehow the key box was already fitted there was a note saying ‘The code is the one you asked for’ she put her key in locked it and then walked down the corridors back to the lift. She went down to the ground floor and sitting there on the floor was the book! Katie was so tempted to write in it, but Mr Kensington said not to, she had done it before should she, should she not. Katie grabbed the book and ran up the stairs to a room that no one else was in. She had a pen in her pocket, so she pulled it out and started writing she was so concentrated it was as if no one or nothing could stop her. She wrote about a competition that was on a boat it was last to stop. Pas de Basquing won. Soon a giraffe arrived and told Katie to follow him, so she did, and he suddenly disappeared so that must mean she was there. As she opened the door, she heard a creak from the already rusted hinges and jumped back in shock, but she then realised it was

just the door, so she walked through, and the door slammed behind her, and she got the shock of her life when out of nowhere jumped a shark…

The Evil Emporium

Chapter 2- I’ll be back

‘I’m s-sorry sir, I don’t know w-where I am, I’ll leave now,’’ Vincent replied shaking in his boots. The man just laughed. As he was laughing, Vincent’s fear was replaced with confusion and a concerned feeling. When the man’s laughter died down, he said ‘There’s no need to be scared! Anyway, my name is Stephen Silver and I own this emporium, this is the ancient book of spells now get out!’’ he yelled. Vincent was now trembling; his eyes were pricked with tears, and he couldn’t get any words to come out of his mouth. ‘I-I do d-deeply apologize Mr. Silver, I’ll be leaving now,’’ Vincent whispered.

Stephen glared at him for one last time before spinning on his heels and going through a purple, velvet curtain. What had Vincent got himself into? When Mr. Silver had left, Vincent’s conscience dragged him back to the book. He skimmed through the book of spells until he found a pen in between two pages. Before he picked it up, he saw a white cat. It had the same deep red eyes as Steven. It also wore a black and green striped bowtie. It stared at Vincent through the curtain. The pen was black and carved into it was, ‘upon writing a spell, shall the writer enter its dimension’. Vincent thought about it and suddenly, an idea popped in his head. He didn’t notice that the cat was slowly walking to him. He finished writing the spell. ‘Good luck!’ Vincent jumped out of his skin. He looked at the cat. ’D-did you just talk?’

‘Yes, Yes I did, anyhow I’m Strange!’ the cat said.

‘Indeed, you are,’ Vincent murmured.

‘Well thank you but I- HEY! My name is strange, but I may be peculiar in your eyes. Like I said, good luck!’ Strange whispered before jumping up and disappearing. ‘Woah,’ Vincent gasped. When he snapped out of his trance, he looked back at the book, took a deep breath and started saying the spell he wrote.

Why did I do this? Why am I here? Why do I let curiosity get the better of me? They are the questions Vincent repeated in his gloomy mind.

After he recited the spell, a portal opened in front of him. His first though was to walk into it, but his train of thoughts was interrupted with a screech.  ‘I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE!’ Stephen shouted as loud as he could. Out of pure fear, Vincent ran into the portal. The portal disappeared as soon as Vincent stumbled out of it. The room was blank. With tears of worry streaming down his face, Vincent sat down.

Just then the room warped into Vincent’s kitchen. His dad was cooking, his brothers where in the middle of an arm wrestle with Vincent watching and his sister was talking with his mum. The scene that was of in front of him was frozen, but Vincent didn’t care; all his family, including him, had something that Vincent had never seen in years on their face.

What Are…?

What are quiet?

An upset soul, a butterfly’s wing fluttering in the rain and a birds first feather hitting the ground.

What are loud?

My dog belting out a bark at the slightest of noises, the ice-cream van humming its tune and a sirens song from the bottom of the sea.

What are happy?

The colour yellow all bright and shinney, the sun blasting its rays of sunshine and a flower field in the middle of nowhere.

What are sad?

A rainbow that frowns and hides behind all its happy colours, the sea as its waves crash and the sky when it rains.

What are quick?

The days of our lives slipping away, your heart as it beats up and down and car chase.

What are slow?

Boredom eating away at our brains, a snail as it prays for food and the wait for something great to happen.

I have never

I have never ridden a dangerous dragon that lives
