A Librarians Secret

A Librarians Secret

Sally Sulman had never wanted to leave home, ever. She stared at the mirror – which was lodged in-between two wooden bookshelves – and began to wonder what she could’ve done differently, could’ve changed. The large city roads with blaring car horns and bustling with conversation was now just a faint memory implanted inside the back for her brain. Sally’s new caretaker was called Mr Victor, the local librarian. He was one of the nicest people Sally had ever met, with being so kind towards her. With Sally loving to talk, they had conversations practically daily about everything Sally could think of off the top of her head.

The first day of school had arrived as children gathered inside the activity-filled playground. Amongst the crowded palace of fun stood Sally, a responsible and hard-working student. She almost never played around at home, and she planned to do the same here. After the entry bell rang, or the whistle had blown, the students were transferred inside of the hallway of rooms. After struggling to find their class, everyone eventually managed and sat down, waiting for their first lesson. They didn’t have to wait long, however, since the teacher of the placement class, Mr Johnson, handed out the lessons. Not too long after getting handed the test, Sally had blazed through the first page, then the next. She had been the first one finished the questions, and it almost felt as if school had been done before it even started.

As time fluttered by, the clouds moved on, releasing the scorching summer heat. Sally had created a new routine, scrubbing dishes at home and organising misplaced and displaced books. Meanwhile at school she aces everything thrown at her and began to make new friends almost weekly. After she does her daily chores, she leaves the tiny library and walks along the enormous pathway behind the small town while Mr Victor takes care of the small plants inside of the tiny greenhouse. As time continued to pass, not much changed, even on September 9th, Sally’s birthday. Soon enough, it had been a year living with Mr Victor, and it began to get repetitive.

Every morning at dawn, everything was quiet, peaceful, and nothing moved. Except for one thing. Mr Victor strolls down into the abandoned farm, for a reason that is currently unknown. She looked through her bedroom window, staring at him as he entered the farm. What was he doing? Why is he going there every night? Why isn’t he telling Sally?

Sally didn’t have to wait long to find out. One morning, while the sun was still rising to its awakening position, Mr Victor barged into Sallys room and forced her to follow him to the abandoned farm, where Sally had watched him walk back and forth. Sally walked silently behind him as he pushed opened the rotting barn doors.

The sun began to rise as it illuminated the ground that had once previously been swarming with darkness. The shadow of the large barn turned into a giant that could crush you in an instant. Sally looked back at the open barn doors.

Inside the barn, there was a rotten, disgusting smell that had fused into the walls, which were already quite damp. The second Sally took one step inside, a large, dark animal pounced in front and snarled angrily. “Meet Meggy,” whispered Mr Victor, “She’s a tiger, I found her locked away inside this barn as a baby.”

Meggy stared at Sally as she trotted forwards. Sally backed up, terrified.

Spiralling-storm

A box is

as spacious as a bank,

like a portable suitcase.

Plastic-wrapped.

A rocket is

as loud as a gunshot,

like an upside-down torch.

Space-transporter.

A tyre is

as fitting as a glove,

like spinning death.

Spiralling-storm.

A painting is

as artistic as graffiti,

like generated miracles.

Dotted-art.

Clock hands are

as sharp as daggers,

like a pair of spinning blades.

Ticking-time.

A cloud is

as wet as a water-bucket,

like gliding polar bears.

Sky-highway.

A light is

as bright as a star,

like a pole of illumination.

Shining-bar.

The Void-Cruiser

The Void-Cruiser

The lanterns hang from the roof, glowing as bright as miniature suns.

The portholes reflect beams of moonlight back onto the darkened wood floorboards.

The midnight waves crashed against the ship with no mercy, rocking back and forth.

Passengers climb aboard from the port as they float upwards out of view.

The ladder dangled off the ships edge like a vine in the wild jungle.

Inside the fuel room, the machinery burnt as bright as a crackling fireplace.

The bright star on the mast gleamed as the ship flew above the clouds.

The deck shook as the ship swerved around the mountain blocking their pathway.

The wooden structure was cold and damp from the onslaught of small rain pellets.

The propeller began to emit tiny star-like particles as it spun faster than ever before.

Moonlight seeped into the empty tiller as the wheel swung from side to side on its own.

Aboard the Void-Cruiser, anything is possible.

The MagnetDragon

The Magnet Dragon

The Magnet Dragon is a rare type of dragon and is closely related to The Metallic Dragon.

Appearance

Are you able to notice a Magnet Dragon if one was right in front of you?

In fact, they are similar to the large majority of dragons. Like most dragons, they have a long tail, sharp metallic scales and magnificent eyesight. Typically, they are a shimmering grey colour which reflects the sunlight off its iron body. However, a few have been spotted as a glistening white colour. This allows them to sneak around in the fog and hide in icy landscapes unnoticed. Baby Magnet Dragons and The Magnet Dragons both have silver grey eyes. Furthermore, they have magnets placed across their body. The main feature of the Magnet Dragon is its magnetic abilities which makes it able to attract and push most metallic objects with ease. Additionally, it is unable to use its wings as the weight of its body is too heavy to be in the sky. Fortunately, it has quick movements on the ground.

Habitat

Nobody has seen a Magnet Dragon during the summer months. Some believe that they hide deep under the surface in the iron mines, as the sun will heat up their magnets making them unusable. However, if you wish to see a Magnet Dragon, if you go up to the abandoned iron mines and set out a few pieces of scrap metal, there is a high chance that it will appear. The Magnet Dragon lives in a cave or somewhere hidden when training.

Diet

Many people are terrified of Magnet Dragons as they believe that they eat children. However, this is not true, Magnet Dragons only eat scrap metal or raw iron as its nutritious for any dragon related to steel or iron. The Magnet Dragon has also never attacked a human without provocation. Baby Magnet Dragons eat smaller steel supplies such as wrenches and screws instead of large engines and empty fire extinguishers.

Behaviour

The Magnet Dragon is known for its peacefulness and calmness. However, it becomes increasingly more aggravated the longer you look at it, as it doesn’t enjoy being stared at. The Magnet Dragon also hates being the main centre of attention as it is quite a shy type of dragon.

Reproduction

The Magnet Dragon reproduces its gene by laying eggs every 2 years deep inside the iron mines. The eggs are made of solid silver and takes 9-11 months to hatch open. Baby Magnet Dragons have small magnets like the normal Magnet Dragons, but their magnetic abilities are much weaker than their older version. The babies train their entire childhood practising their magnet skills until mastered.

Facts

-The Magnet Dragon can be kept as a pet if trained properly.

-The baby Magnet Dragon is 1/5 the size of the adult Magnet Dragon.

-The Magnet Dragon is one of the rarest dragons in the entire world.

-The Magnet Dragon is closely related to The Metallic Dragon as they are both made of steel and they both eat the same thing.

-The Magnet Dragon is made of a smooth, silver material commonly found in the Iron Mines.

-The Magnet Dragon often has been spotted training in places such as corn fields and forests.

The Magnet Dragon does not deserve to be hunted down as it is a beautiful species of dragon and has done nothing wrong to justify being murdered.

The storm

The storm wiped out the town. The man stumbled across the road. Then he sat at the table. They called him at the train station. The went down the street.

Into the Abandoned Town

Into The Abandoned Town

Dillian leaned over the edge in horror as the surface speedily ran up to them. They were rocking and swinging from side to side, Dillian tried his best to stay standing up, but he kept tumbling over. Thomas was trying to use a large metal pole to whack at the creature on the balloon that sliced the opposite balloon with its claws, causing a gaping hole to rip open. This made the skyship go down even faster, now the ground was a couple hundred feet away.

With a loud thud, the skyship had landed in a small open field. The balloons had completely deflated by now, so Thomas knew they’d have to be here a while. Dillian stood up with a headache, his head clanged against the skyship’s floor after they landed. Once the headache cleared, Dillian looked around the area from the skyship, the moon glistened down at the abandoned town like the sun’s beams, in the distance, the buildings looked like they had been laying there for years, ancient, abandoned. The towering church leaned over the skyship.

Thomas had just beaten the unusual looking bird on the balloon as it flew away back into the clouds, Thomas dropped the metal pole and looked around too. He looked to the right, he spotted all sorts of houses and huts, all been torn apart or burnt, dead trees that had been scattered all around left a lingering scent of burning fire. To the left of the skyship, a broken-down school had been run into the ground. The roofs of houses had gotten blown off, being left to crumble on the rocky ground. The wind was gently brushing against Thomas’s face.

Thirty minutes later after the landing, the children found themselves alone on board the Duckdagger. Captain Arnold and the rest of the crew had exited the skyship in search of materials to repair the burst balloons, leaving precise instructions not to leave the skyship. Dillian and Thomas stood on the deck in silence, staring forward at the moon. The sun had set a long time ago, so darkness had already engulfed everything. A few stars shimmered high above the clouds.

At that moment, the nearby bush shook…

You’ve most likely stepped foot on a skyship when the skies were a lovely blue, as the gentle wind skimmed against the sides of the deck. Or maybe you like to enjoy the smaller things such as looking down at the ground and seeing all the towns and cities fly by, as the clouds brush against your face and run through the gaps between your fingers.

You may also be prepared for battle with a weapon layout from weakest to deadliest kinds of weapons and are ready for any kinds of dangers that await you further on into your journey. You could also be prepared from being attacked from the ground as many people want to rob you of your supplies to make a sky-ship of their own, so they can take down their enemies from the sky, including you.

You should also try going for a flight in a harsh snowstorm when the snowflakes pierce your ships balloons. Once the thunder rains down onto your skyship, as it booms against the upper half of your deck, there’s no turning back now. And don’t even try flying above all the calamity as sky dwellers lurk above the clouds, waiting for their next prey, as when you least expect it, they attack. That’s when a sky-ship adventure becomes a lot less thrilling than it sounds…

And many assume they have spotted sky lions with their deadly claws and their fluffy mains, although they are not as cute as you’d expect, as their claws can pierce through even the toughest balloons fused with dragon scales. Sky lions often hunt in hordes so they could tear through your entire ship in a few minutes, leaving no trace that it ever existed. You must be extremely prepared to take down a pack of sky lions if you wish to survive.

Dillian stomped tiredly up the stairs of the skyship and peered down over the railing to see the houses and huts pass by. He found that satisfying just to see the people walking on foot whilst he was in the air. His older brother, Thomas, came towards Dillian. Just then, strong gusts of wind blew the airship. Dillian clutched the railing to prevent being blown away. When the wind calmed down Thomas asked Dillian if he wanted to go inside, Dillian refused as he enjoyed the fresh air that blew across the deck. As Thomas went inside, Dillian gazed over the railing one last time and realised that they’ve travelled extremely far for such a short time. Suddenly, a large grey cloud came into view as Dillian recognised that the gust of wind had blown them off course.

At that moment, disaster struck, a horde of sky lions pounced from the clouds and swarmed the airship. Dillian thought he could take them but the millisecond they landed on the skyship he knew he was overestimating himself. Captain Arnold was sitting down at the table sipping his warm cup of coffee when Dillian bolted downstairs screaming for help, a sky lion following. Captain Arnold quickly pulled out a strange horn from his back pocket and blew it, the noise it produced made Dillian cover his ears, Thomas did the same. The sky lion growled and jumped back onto the main deck. He blew it once more. All the sky lions flew back into the cloud as Captain Arnold quickly swerved away. Sky lions don’t go down easily.

Momentarily, the sky lions vanished into the cloud as Captain Arnold flew inside the storm as an attempt to find a cover. As they entered the storm the thunder’s loud bang echoed throughout the cloud; Dillian was quivering in fear. Thomas used his binoculars as an attempt to see outside of the cloud, but it was just too dense, all he could see was a dark grey texture that smothered the lenses of the binocular. The sky lions roared in a spite of rage as they started ripping through clouds like butter, trying to uncover the skyship’s disguise. “Hang on! Prepare for landing!” Captain Arnold yelled at the top of his lungs as the engines started to slow down.

A second later, the skyship started to descend at a rapid pace, air leaked out from a cut in the balloon which sky lions had made on their arrival. Dillian grasped the railings for stability as the skyship was rocking back and forth. Dillian peered upwards in search of the sky lions but saw nothing. Had they managed to evade them?

10 Things Found In An Ogre’s Knapsack

10 Things Found in A Ogre’s Knapsack

A large pair of wet and soggy boots, which were full to the brim with mud, that can traverse across swampy ponds with ease when barely gathering a particle of dirt.

An extremely long rope, which can be used to pull an object closer from far away, that can swing across giant gaps easily with some momentum, very helpful in specific situations.

A spiked mace, which can deliver devastatingly powerful blows onto the enemy, to impale and swipe at all opponents in its path, incredibly heavy, as only the strongest can wield this mighty weapon.

A pair of worn-out shorts (which have many rips and scratches on them) with extremely large pockets to store heavy or big items, such as a large bat or a map.

A small bag of fairy dust, that glows a radiant pink when you shake it, that can make anything grow if you sprinkle a specific amount of it onto the object.

A winged pig, which is very useful for travelling, that can allow you to fly high up straight through all the clouds into the sky and avoid all the dangerous grounded creatures.

A fishing rod, which can be used to catch fish to eat and reel people in closer, to use as any kind of melee weapon, such as the spiked mace, to defeat the foe with ease.

An extra-ordinarily large crossbow (which is quite light for its size) which is designed to shoot large, heavy shovels instead of arrows to defend against the enemy’s flaming shots.

A large cannon, which is very hard to aim, which shoots massive bombs that explode on impact into smaller bombs, obliterating everyone in the area.

A strange stopwatch, which barely fits any human and shows an unusual time, that indicates when a mass attack is approaching or being planned.

The African Leopard

African Desert Leopard

Have you ever seen a Desert leopard? I haven’t seen one yet. The Desert leopard climbs up humongous pyramids in Egypt. First the Desert Leopard would get their sharp claws out and sweep away sand to climb the narrow pyramids.

This creature lives in bright yellow deserts all round Africa.  You will find this creature beside pyramids, flat land in deserts, and little rivers going through deserts.

The African Desert Leopard looks like a snow Leopard but the different is that the Desert Leopard has way more patterns. The baby Desert Leopard starts with five fingers then they will grow when their ten months old to 120 inches. Adults have seven teeth to chomp on. Their enemies’ babies have five teeth, but they will grow to.

Desert Leopards eat camels, rabbits, salmon and monkeys. They eat two animals a day and love their food so much that’s why they’re so strong.

The Desert Leopard hunts in big groups that’s why they have so much beef and meat.  They sound like wolves howling when they attack.

That is the African Desert Leopard. Do you think the African Desert Leopard the strongest animal ever?

The Lovely Animals

I want to paint a brave bee flying over a bright city.

I want to paint a handsome hedgehog walking in a dark and lonely town.

I want to paint a lovely spider climbing up his sticky and gleaming web to catch his prey.

I want to paint an odd octopus swimming through fancy fish.

I want to paint a giant panda chomping his juicy bamboo.
