You’ve probably had family adventures on a skyship. In summer, you would fly over luscious green fields and crystal blue oceans whilst soaring high in the blue sky. When you flew, you would have had an amazing adventure, racing through the sky like a bird of prey hunting its food. When you flew, you would feel the warm wind brush past you face as you feel the sun beaming on your back. You probably would soar over island and maybe stop to do fun activities. Travelling by skyship in the summer is like that.
However, travelling on an expedition to unknown lands is dangerous. You should try a skyship journey when lightning cracks open the sky, rain tumbles down like tiles falling from a house. You should try to defend the ship when mountain yetis attack, scrambling across the ship the avoid the get trampled by a 250kg yeti. You should try battling the goblins when they try to take the ships motors or worse- the ships wings. No one know what nightmares are there – dragons, drakons or even hydras. Rumour say that they live in caves that the walls are painted with blood.
Chapter 1
The crowd went wild as the skyship Argo II rose into the air, its engine rumbling ready to take off. Captain Shotgun stood proudly at the hull, waving at the remains of the crowd as the skyship slowly drifted into the horizon. They had taken off.
Nico and Reyna glanced over the edge of the ship. On the right, exotic plants crowded fields. On the left the sea stretch out into the horizon. In the distance, they could hear the faint sound eagle hunting for food. Nico and Reyna grinned at each other hoping they felt the same way. In side they were nervous but excited to go on an adventure. But would it be safe.
Within an hour, the Argo II was sailing above the ocean. Far below, pods of dolphins followed the ship as it sailed at top speed.
Nico sighed,” I wonder if we will find Jeff Benzos” Nico muttered, looking at his toes.
“I wonder if we will meet anything unpleasant, last time we almost go killed by a mountain troll,” Reyna whispered looking nervous.
That night thunder filled the air, like wolves howling. Lightning whipped through the sky like it was cracking the galaxy. Rain battered the ship and the sky was jet black. Far below the sea casted waves as big as houses and it almost touched the skyship.
Chapter 2
Over the next few months, the Argo II sailed the through icy rain and jagged lightning roamed the sky. Snow hammered down like bricks tumbling down a roof. One morning, they woke and the rain had stopped and far below stretched and island the shape of pig’s head. In the middle, blue lakes tumbled down rocks and most importantly a place to land. According to Nico’s map, the island was called Wild Boar. Reyna shivered.
Glancing down from the deck, Captain Shotgun got his binoculars and seconds later he was barking orders. “Prepare to land,” he roared as he climbed up the rigging. He had seen a wreckage of a smaller skyship that had crashed there. Curiously, Nico peered wondering what might lie below. Had Jeff Benzos landed here?
The wind stilled; everyone crowded the deck to see what they have discovered. Nico and Reyna stared at the wreckage of the skyship that lay beneath several plants. On one side, a calm waterfall trickled down the hill as slow as a snail. On the other side, a forest stretched out for miles. Above, the sun was buried beneath the grey morning clouds.
The team climbed down the rope ladders, and began to make there way to the Skyship wreckage. Reyna ran ahead and came out shouting. “Look I’ve found something,” and she gave it to Captain Shotgun. He read it and then showed the others. It was a cloth that had some initials on it. JB.
“We’ll camp here,” said the captain,” tomorrow we will search for our friend.” After that they began to set up. Sooner or later it was set. As the sun began to dip, Nico and Reyna sat on a log beside the fire looking at it twinkle I the moonlight. Smoke drifted into the sky, and the fire spat out sparks.
It was at that moment, that Nico saw something. A dark figure appeared. The sand crunched. Something big, strong and fast move. A branch broke. Twigs snapped. Nico stepped back. Suddenly a idea began to form. A crazy one. But it began to grow. Until the idea was solid.
