When the blood falls

When the Blood Falls

Scott Rucker had found it hard to say goodbye to his home but it was for the best. Scott often daydreamed of his home back in Edinburgh. He stared out of his upstairs window in his new home. He lived with a loving family called The Faltons, the man was called Danny and the woman was called Hatty. He lived in a place in the south side of Scotland. Scott liked the old couple. They lived on a farm. The farm was huge, it had sheep, cows, pigs and bulls.

The school was great, Scott made friends instantly. He signed up for the school rugby team as soon as the offer came out. He has been extremely excited. Meanwhile, after school every day, he would come and help Hatty to water and plant the vegetables. Then he helped Danny to milk the cows, and feed all the animals. Scott was enjoying his new life here plenty, but he was not ready to show it yet.

The first week of school came and gone. The teachers were amazing but the lunches were alright. During the weekend, he planned to go out with some friends to play rugby at the pitches. At three o’clock, Scott met up with his friend and went to the local chip shop before they went to the rugby pitches. They chatted about who they thought would make the school rugby team. When he arrived home, Danny and Hatty had made cake for him. Scott just remembered that it had been one week since he arrived here.

Later that night, Scott was looking out of his bedroom window, when something caught his eye. It was Hatty and Danny going down to the bottom of the road then going into the woods and then out of sight. Scott thought nothing of it at first, but then he started wondering why they were going somewhere so late at night. They were carrying a lantern each, they had their big coats on and woolly hats. Why did they go down there. What were they doing.

Scott didn’t have to wait long at all to find out what they were doing last night. That night he was told by Danny to put on his boots his big winter coats and bring a lantern. Danny and Hatty lead him out of the house and down the road and into the forest.

The forest was dark even with the lanterns lighting up the way. It was a journey full of twists and turns. It was about half an hour at least before Danny and Hatty stopped and stared at a large bush. Suddenly, some rustling sounds started to come from the bush. Then out of the bush stepped a leopard.

It made its way towards Scott, who was tied up by a rope of fear.

Chapter 1

When the Rain Falls

Kari Young always had the fear of leaving home. The time had come. She glared out the square window in sadness, letting a few tears out. She missed her family, waving to Davey the postman and anyway, the smelt warm and cosy with a small draft of wind. The room was the same place

Mrs Grant’s oldest son slept in but he’s in France fighting at war. She gets teary whenever we say about the war. Kari was no fool and after on conversation, she had learned no to tough that one room.

Her first day at school had come. The teacher was kindly enough woman called Miss Mancini. She had soon found out she can’t write, Kari  at the back of the classroom so she could focus. Kari worked with a copy jotter and a pencil. Her letters weren’t that bad. She kept her head down and practiced as hard as she could. The bell had rang Kari was happy school was finally over.

The weeks flew by and Kari began to make out a routine. Her days were spent with fun and laughter, also she had helped Mrs Grant with chores and other house work. The weeds got picked out of the stones, they even completely did up the room so it was more comfortable for Kari. Soon, the winter had left the town and spring started a fresh day and warm breeze.

Last thing that night, Kari stood at the bedroom window, watching the stars as the slipped away. Nothing happened, except for one thing. Every night Mrs grant turned on the fairy lights outside and then she would make her way down into the forest with a lantern. What was she doing? Why did she go into the forest every night?

Kari did not have to wait that long to find out. One night, at the start of June, When trees had come into leaf and flowers covered the forest, she asked Kari to follow her. The lantern made everything brighter and Kari trudged along behind her, Kari was not ready to show her that he was beginning to enjoy her new life.

The moon shone sown a silver light and stars shone in the sky but in the Forest, it was dark. The lantern made shadows that looked like monsters that will take you away. She hurried after Mrs Grant.

She stopped by a gate Kari peered through the gate. He could smell something intense, meaty an animal. Then two green eyes appeared out of the darkness. Something growled, long, low and deep. A throaty snarl like no other snarl. Kari gasped. She was looking at an enormous cat bigger than she had ever seen. “Meet Drax”, Mrs Grant whispered, “he’s a panther. I found him as a cub. Lost in the snow.”

Drax stared at Kari and padded forwards towards where Kari stood, paralysed with fear.

chapter 1

Joe Smack did not want to leave the house. He stared out of the curtains not wanting to go to school. He was going to have to try write and read. He was having his breakfast and he was talking to Mary Jane. She said her son was in the war in Denmark and she didn’t like talking to people who would talk about the war and her son.

It was his first day of school and I have to say it went very quickly, I liked the teacher that me and everyone else thought that he was very kind he was called Mr Drought I think he knew that I didn’t know how to read and write so he let me off. At the break I didn’t talk to anyone and just stayed low I contained my angrier inside me in a small metal box. As soon as the bell rang I was out.

The weeks flew bye and Joe had kind of started a routine for every day and week. He would go to school his writing looking a lot better than last time, helping Mary Jane with the gardening helping to pull the potatoes, carrots, pickles and tomatoes I helped sheer the sheep witch was very hard.

Last thing every single night Joe would stare out the window watching the sun go down nothing else just that it gets quite boring after a small bit, but then I always see Mary go out of the house with a lantern and walk over towards a small shack in the distance about a mile away I always want to know what she is doing and I am going to find out.

He did not have to wate that long because it is June now and Mary has just asked me to follow her we walked far with the lantern bobbing up and down like a boat, but I am yet to tell her that I am enjoying my knew life.

We stopped at the shack that she would go to every night she took out a key and started to open the shed I could hear animal noises very clearly as I was very excited to see what was inside and then it opened up and out came the biggest bird I have ever seen Mary said meet” Milo the vulture”, it started to land right Infront of me

As it got closer I went further,

I was paralyzed with fear with his claws shinning in the light like it will Pearce me any second.

When the thunder strikes chapter 1

When the Thunder Strikes

Chapter 1

Thor Ragnarök had been excited to go to the countryside. He lied in his sofa-bed looking out the window in the kitchen, watching a rabbit jump around in the garden. He missed his family and was worried about them because of the war, but it was much quieter here and he liked that. The sofa bed was dusty as it had never been used because Mrs Rake had never had overnight guests. Mrs Rake despised the war she got angry every time it was mentioned. Thor was smart so he didn’t mention it again.

He hated school. He was horrible at maths, literacy, reading and everything else. He liked lunch. He got a ham sandwich and some water, then it was back to boring classes. When the bell rang he dashed out of the door, forgetting about school and going back to the house.

Months went by and he still had fun looking after the pig, feeding the horse and playing with the sheep. He had started to do some farming. He grew some razzberries, strawberries carrots and other things he didn’t know what they were, soon it was winter and all his crops had died.

Every midday, he watched Mrs Rake go into the snowy forest behind the house, quickly walking away from the house. He watched her from the barn. Why was she going into the forest that he was forbidden to go into? What is so important that she had to go there every day?

One snowy day, In November, he was asked by Mrs Rake to come into the forest with him. The wind and snow was blowing in his face as Mrs Rake walked on completely unaffected. She didn’t know he was actually enjoying this like her.

They stopped at an opining, He could hear some sort of lizard chirp. He could smell meat and then he saw a bush rustle and jumped back. Mrs Hill shouted “Delta, Rex, Alpha, Blue come!” And then four giant velociraptors jumped out of some bushes and Thor froze in fear. “Meet the raptors, they are the last living dinosaurs on earth” Mrs Rake said causally “I found them as babies frozen solid in an ice cave.

The raptors moved slowly towards Thor, and he stood there mouth wide open in shock.

The Preporation for blood shed

The preparation for blood shed

Tracer Mai came of the bus crying just thinking about what had happened back at the village the people came to choose who they want I was chose for the very last by a man in a black robe that said that I was special so he took me and we went to a village he took me to a wall and simply just walked through it so I followed him.  And appeared in a dojo of some sort he said he was going to train me.

And so he told me the story of how it all happened he said, it started when the demons and spirit people lived in peace until Kiana the power demon wanted more than just to share the spirit dimension  but to rule it so he fought the spirit people but in the end the master cast him in a portal back into the demon relm and then rebuilt the village many soldiers were lost that day but ever since the master had died the demons have come for revenge lost souls in control of Kiana so ever since that we have been training an army to fight back against the demon relm and we need a leader which will be you.

So I started my training Monday shuriken practise Tuesday bow training  Wednesday sword deflecting Thursday bamboo chopping Friday fitness and every night I lie in bed waiting for something to happen. On Saturday we went into the village to look for ingredients for a healing stew, for food and weapon’s  in the afternoon I met a new friend her name is Bridget her dad is the engineer Torbjorn there were tool smiths sharpening weapons ready for the battle next month

I all ways see a light coming from the north wind dorm so one night I snuck out to check it out and my beads were glowing it’s like it was calling them into the room so I went in and discovered a sword lying on the bed there a label on it saying  Tracer please fight the demon Kiana and save my soul – Gengi. Tracer was struck with power when she picked it up and said “I will save your soul father”

We went out into the town the next day still keeping the sword wherever I go  just in case of any demons me, Bridget and my god of an uncle Hanzo were on patrol duty whilst Torbjorn installed some new turrets at the front of the dojo just encase of emergencies Hanzo talked about you now hate, betrayal and all that other stuff that probably won’t be important because me and Bridget were talking about how existing this is going to be fighting demons alongside spirit Warriers. So after Torbjorn was done we went back inside the dojo to train.

Letter

Dear Ma,

Thanks for the apple. I ate it in a corner of the train. We had finally

arrived at Troon. It was a little town next to the sea. It was weird

compered to home. All I wanted was to be back with you and Pa.

I was the last one. I think it was because the hand and the missing

finger.

Anyways, I’m staying with a lady called Miss darily. She lives in a small

cottage on the hills. The first thing she made me do was wash myself

in the washing pond. The she gave me a nice hot glass of coco. She is

really nice.

I have a little room up in the attic. I see across the sea. I hear the waves

crashing against the wall. I’ve gone to church every day to pray for you and Pa.

Every morning I get and make sure the chickens are still there. Sometimes if I’m

lucky I get to have a boiled egg that had got that morning.

You’ll never guess what. Miss darily have a pig called Annie. I get to feed her.

Shes the cutest thing ever. She stays in a little shed in the garden. I also have

to clean up the number 2s and it’s not fun.

Academy hills is a tiny is a tiny place. There is lots of big trees and little

Flowers. There is a lot of tiny houses on the hills. Each house has a name.

One is called pickle me. There is also lots of fields with cows and sheep.

Every morning, I go to a little school called St-Patricks. It’s only a 3 minute walk.

I bring my gas mask every way I go. We do lots of reading and mathematics.

I really like reading but not so much mathematics. I sit in the front with my

piece of chalk and slate.

We have lunch outside on the benches. Miss darily sends me with a little brown bag.

Inside id a bit of beard and sandwich. Most of the kids eat nothing but sometimes,

I give them a bit of my bread. All girls taught me to play hop scotch and the boys

taught me marbles.

I hope you and Pa are safe. I’m scared that I’ll never see you again. Hope Pa is

feeling better. I hope Mr ****** and his army soon dies out. Write back please.

Dear Ma, All my thanks for that crunchy. I gobbled it up on the long journey and it kept me full for most of the expedition. After what had seemed like years, we arrived somewhere in Russia. It is a big place near Moscow which is much bigger than our little place. It’s not like our street Hauptstrasse. It’s hardly a street, just one house in it.

Once we got there, many people came crowding us and chose which children they would like to look after. It was like the Queen’s coronation. I was chosen first. I think because I was the cleanest girl there, but still I was very dirty.

Anyway, I am being cared for by Miss Young who lives in a little cottage by the woods. The water comes from a little well by the stream. There’s a thin handle you twist and the bucket comes racing up! First thing, Miss Young made me wash in a little bucket by the stream because she wanted me to be a little bit cleaner. Then she gave me a steaming cup of tea. She speaks with a very soft voice but we are like best buddies.

I have a dainty room by the living room. I can see right through the forest. At night, I can hear the fox’s scream and the hedgehogs hustle. I’ve  prayed so much for you and da to make sure you are both ok. Every morning, I wake to the thrushes song. It makes the most beautiful sound and song. There are little parrots in little cages and everything I say they repeat back to me. She also has a massive garden of fruit and veg. There aren’t any electrical things about like cars or trains, it is just such a peaceful place to live and I wish you were here to see it.

You’ll never guess but Miss Young has a pet lamb called Freddie, and treats it like a dog, but he likes it. I have chores that I do every two days and the best is taking Freddie for a walk through the forest. I also have to feed the parrots lots of worms and sunflower-seeds. First thing in the morning, she makes me some warm porridge with a dumpy of milk.

Moscow is a massive village and luckily I live at the end of it on the hills. There are about 1992 houses. They have little stone pathways leading to the front doors. They are made from limestone and they glow in the sun. The forest is different shade of green. It’s nothing like home.

Every morning, Miss Young sends me to a big school in the middle of the city. I carry my gas mask like I promised. I get the school bus there and it takes about thirty minutes to get there. Lots of people go there. Everyone prays for an hour for the country and I kneel on a cushion in the middle of the classroom, with my chalk board and chalk. I’m trying so hard with maths and writing.

We have the choice to eat lunch outside or inside and we each get a cushion to bring out with us. Sometimes Mrs Young sends me with a tub of salad and with bits of cheese blocks as a treat. Lots of people climb over the school fence and jump into the field and steal vegetables for a treat to put in their lunch box. I’ve seen them stealthily putting them into their lunch box. I tried doing it and I put it back but somehow got me in lots of trouble. The boys and girls here are fine. They’ve taught us all sorts of things.

I hope you and da are alright ma. I think about you every day. I really hope da soon kills sir ****** and comes home. I’ll write later. Hope you can write to me soon.

Your daughter-Amy.

Dear Ma,

Thanks for the slice of Bread. I nibbled on it the full way. I cried for one last hug, Woman and children Crowded me as I boarded the steam train, all of the people made me jealous and worried that I would never see you ever again. Once we were all on the train I cried as you walked away.

After a while, I stopped crying as everybody had fallen asleep But Eventually, We made it to our Destination It was a small town in south Ayrshire called Troon, The trees are green and the houses are nice.

That night, I was taken to a hall where Lots of Woman and their husbands would pick children to take home for a while or even our whole lives. After a while I was picked and taken home by an old woman named Helan but she tells me to call her Miss Smith.

Anyways, She was nice enough but she made me do a lot of jobs like Cleaning The gutters and the chimney of if I am lucky emptying the toilet. In the Morning, I was getting ready for school And I had to be dressed in a Long skirt and a top. During school, I played hopscotch with a girl called Zoe, Once school was over, I came home in a carriage with Zoe and a boy from a woodwork class that we watched.

I have a little room across from the study where I sleep it has a rusty metal bed and a lamp with no light. I only eat when miss smith eats witch is almost never.

I normally sit in silence eating my tea wishing you were there, I pray for you and pap every day and night hoping I will come home soon to see you soon. Miss Smith is nice though so I am sure I can manage. Every morning we get up extra early to make  me a sandwich to bring to school it normally has cheese of ham but it is quite tasty.

I hope you and pa are doing well. Please write back, See you soon xxx

From your loving daughter – Luisa.

Dear Ma , Thanks for the hot potato. I ate it on the way to where ever we are going but it kept me warm. After what seemed like months , we arrived at Troon. It’s a small wee town near Barassie which isn’t much bigger. It’s now like the street that we lived on.

Once we got there lots of men and women came and chose a random child that they wanted. It was like being at a cattle market. I got left till I was the last one I think it was because of my shoes being black

Anyways I’m staying with Ma Macmillan as she likes to be called on a little house on a hill The water comes up from a well in the wee back garden. There’s a gargantuan handle  you turn up and the bucket comes up filled with water. First thing Ma Macmillan made me do was to wash in the wee tub in the back garden and it was freezing. She wouldn’t let me in until I was scrubbed clean. Then she gave me a nice wee warm cuppa tea. She talks in a weird voice but we get along well.

I have at little room in the attic and I can see across the beach. At night I can hear the waves of the ocean and the wind or rain. I’ve prayed every day and every night for you dad and Liam. Every morning, I wake up to the  sound of seagulls. It can be annoying. There are chickens in the back garden and Ma Macmillan lets me collect the eggs. She has rows of fruit and vegetables in the garden. There aren’t any cars, only the road and horse. It’s dead loud most of the time.

You’ll never guess but Ma Macmillan keeps a pig called Evan in a small wee stone shed. I have jobs to do an the best is feeding Evan. I also have to lock the chickens up at night as Ma Macmillan says that the foxes will have them for tea. First thing in the morning I collected the eggs and Ma Macmillan gives me a scrambled egg.

Barassie is a wee town down at the shore. There are only about 50 houses at the moment. They have these little pathways that leads to the houses lane. They are called ‘laggers’ and each one has it’s own name. There is one called crooked mustard. The fields and trees have green leaves. It’s nothing like home.

Every morning Ma Macmillan sends me off to the wee school. I carry my gas mask everywhere like I promised. It’s only a minutes walk up the lane. Lots of us go there. We have to sing a hymn pray for the country and sit on a wooden bench at the back of classroom, with my copybook and slate. I’m trying right hard with my spelling a counting.

We have lunch outside on the grass Ma Macmillan sends me with a bread and dripping sandwich. Sometimes she gives me some fruit with it as a treat. Lots of the boys eat carrots that they’ve dug up on the way to school. I reckon they might steal them. I’ve seen them washing carrots in puddles and drying them on grass. I tried eating a carrot once but my teeth nearly broke. The boys and girls are ok. They’ve taught us a lot of games. The girls like jump rope and hopscotch. But we are good at marbles.

I hope you and liam are alright ma. I think about you every day. I hope our dad is alright and soon beats Mr ****** and comes home. I’ll write again soon. Please write back to me.

Your loving son-Ryan
