The Antique Emporium By Izabella

Prologue

Rain shattered down to the ground. Thunder ran through the sky and lighting littered down, on the town of London. There was this one thing that everyone avoided, It was large, It was dark, The Antique Emporium. It was invisible to the strangers of Roald Street. Scarlet red rubies sat lonely in the windows of the Emporium waiting to be bought. But nobody ever entered, so nothing was ever taken home. Rumours spread that most people walking on the streets have heard whispers creeping out of the Emporium, Then came a girl. Sybil…

Chapter 1

Sybil stood outside deliberating if she should enter the Emporium. She stepped in, and a cold breeze flew through her. Antique chairs and tables gave out an old musty smell and only candles lit up the room. Record players let out classical music which ran through Sybil’s ears that made her go quiet. Then she saw something big, It was chestnut brown and had a lock but there was a key next to it.

Sybil was curious so she ran towards it. Suddenly, there was a clatter coming from behind the curtain so Sybil dropped the book and hid, an elderly lady walked out and was looking for the key to the book. She realised someone had found it and took it, In that moment Sybil knew she had messed up. She went up to the lady and said, “Hello, sorry that I took the key I didn’t know that it was anyone’s.” “Oh, hello Sybil, thank you for giving back the key.” The lady responded, then she walked away with only the sound of her short, black heels tapping on the wooden floor.
