The Somewhere Emporium Chapter 1: Beyond the doors. By Patrick.

The Somewhere Emporium Prologue.

There are many places that have an Emporium. Some of them are weird, wonderful and wacky but this Emporium is all three.

Even though the Emporium looked hypnotising no one every fell for its tricks. The street was deserted like a wasteland no one touched the slant of lamplight at the start of the street and no one dared to touch the cobbled, grey stairs that led to the Emporiums main doors and the Emporium was Somewhere but never Nowhere. Yesterday it was on a different street now it’s on the abounded street. No one ever dared to touch any part of the Emporium until there came Edward.

Chapter 1: beyond the doors.

Edward has always been a mysterious child and his dad told him not too go in anything weird but he never listened to him. One dark night the moon cloaked the town and Edward walked along the deserted, dusty road and saw something that he has never seen before. It was glowing brightly and said on the sign the somewhere Emporium of wonderful and weird things the strange thing was he has never seen it and it is in a dark alley way.  He walked closer and opened the huge, bulky doors. He put a single foot inside the extremely bright emporium and knew he would get into some mischief.

He walked in and his jaw dropped amazed and excited. The cold breeze hit him making his self shiver. Crows flew around making a bunch of weird but calming tweeting sounds and old, scraps of machinery kept sliding into each other. Gold and silver watches could be seen from the surface and ancient china dolls laid on the dusty shelve with a single wooden knight to accompany the weird doll. The uneven tiles on the floor was grubby and gross but the light bulbs shone like a star. Then a strange book caught the corner of his eye, he ran to the worktop it laid on. He turned the pages reading all of the weird and wonderful  wonders.

“What are doing in my shop,” a muffled voice could be heard in the lit up room.  Edward dropped the book that was full of different fantasy’s  and turned around. The old man wore midnight like clothes and diamond eyes . He stood there with disapproval.

  1. Hi I really like your work!
There is one thing I would change about it though.
It is your second paragraph the sentence “Even though the Emporium looked hypnotising no one “every” fell for its tricks.
