Into the room by Vienna SWW

Chapter 3

She gripped the handle and closed her eyes, then took one careful step in side. She wandered in watching the waterfall. The trees swayed in the breeze, grass crunching under Autumn’s footsteps. She faced the waterfall and started running towards it.

Suddenly, she came out wet but in a warm cave filled with everything you would need: a cosy sofa; a steaming tea pot; a warm fire place; a small cream kitchen with old ceramic cups; a small table for one person set up with a snow white cloth; and fresh scones.

“Hello,” shouted Autumn, wondering if anyone lived here. But no one replied. With a surprised look she noticed rocky stairs and crept up, the landing was dark and quiet. Autumn checked both the bedrooms but they were empty even though they had nice freshly made covers. Then she heard it!

Lights flickered. Someone or something was moving down stairs. But it was not using legs. No footsteps, only a slithering noise. There was a hiss. Autumn crept downstairs and took a peek into the kitchen. Nothing! There was a hiss again. Autumn’s eyes flickered to the living room door. Then she knew it. She ran for her life. She looked up and saw the shop keepers eagle he squawked and flew away. Autumn ran under the eagle following it.

Final she got out of the cave. She ran for the door, jumped over logs and dodged trees. When she got to where the door had been she was shocked. Where would it go? She felt lost and scared as darkness closed in around her and the eagle. What was going to happen now?
