Queava and the locket of secrets

Chapter 3

After hours and hours of running around the room feeling around for some sort of escape, “you know how old this place is do you really think when you touch that stone a secret door will unravel itself and we will be saved forever?” Moaned Trevor staring gloomily at the stone floor

“Well If you helped me instead of twiddling you thumbs maybe we will escape! Replied Queava angrily, but Trevor just stared at the floor pretending that he heard none of it. Queava glared at him, “I am not doing this all on my home for me to do all the work and you can just stride out of here like it was a video game!” Shouted Queava

After and awkward silence had fallen upon them Queava kept trying she was desperate. She stared out the chained window as the pink sunset filled the room with light “What did I do to deserve this!!!” Queava banged her had of the wall and it started to bleed “

What did you do that for!” Shouted Trevor

“Sorry I got angry please will you just help!

“But why? if I help I will just ruin everything and soon that wicked lady will have to hand us over people will get suspicious” sighed Trevor

“Okay  then just sit there like one of the stuffed teddy bears in my bedroom and stare at me like I’m an actor!” Squealed Queava

it was silent and nothing was said for hours. Queava  still kept doing anything she could think of to just try and escape.

Queava stood impatiently with her arm folded as she fiddled with her feet trying to think of an idea when it came to her she could use her father’s pocket knife to pick the lock and get out of here. Queava had never understood why her father had a pocket knife in every single room of the house she opened the cupboard and there it was the pocket knife! She picked the best sized knife and got to it she pushed it and turned it and did everything she could to pick the lock. She had watched lots of mystery and crime movies and read lots of books about them and tried all of the strategy’s the characters use in them. After hours of trying it was no good nothing worked and they were stuck. She looked down at her hands they were grazed and had blisters and were bleeding a lot but she didn’t care she had to get out no matter what but suddenly she felt extremely tired and Trevor had been asleep for hours she rolled her eyes thinking “was Trevor really right?, was there a way to escape? and if there is what is it?!.”

It was getting dark and Queava’s eyes were starting to drift off to sleep but she couldn’t  go to sleep she had to stay awake and look out for an escape. After a while though her eyes couldn’t stay open any longer and just as she was drifting off to sleep she heard a noise a sort of odd scraping noise she crawled over to the window and peeked over the window ledge it was Rusty! “Hello Give me A Wind up Will You?” He murmured

“Rusty! How did you escape from that wicked lady?!” Exclaimed Queava

“She thought I was asleep and left the room and I found the key and escaped!” Said rusty excitedly

“Okay well why are you here? We can’t escape !” Murmured Queava

“Yes you can” said rusty

” What!”

Rusty handed her a folded piece of paper Queava looked at it confused but she opened it, it was a map of the house!

“It appears that you are standing over a trap door that leads outside” said Rusty

“Oh my goodness” replied Queava  she looked down and noticed a rise in the floor

“How could I not notice this!” She exclaimed Queava went down to pull it up and it only rose a few centimetre’s “I don’t think I can do this on my own” said Queava she looked over at Trevor snoring on the floor and she walked over to him and screamed “WAKE UP!” Trevor jumped up startled and moaned
“ugh what did you do that for”

“We have a chance to escape and I need an extra hand” Whispered Queava

“Fine what do you want me to do” Queava explained everything that had happened while he was asleep and he was in shock “I take one nap and all of that happens!” Laughed Trevor

“Okay let’s get to work” said Queava efficiently they walked over to the exact spot the door was and they started to pull it wouldn’t budge but they kept working and the door finally sprung open and a long ladder went down into a dark underground tunnel they climbed down and walked along the dark tunnel and after what felt like hours of darkness they finally saw light they ran towards it and found there selves in a field full of grass and grass and grass but as they looked around rusty spotted a barn of some sort so they walked over and it was full of comfy bales of hay they all collapsed on to them and immediately felt there body’s sweep with tiredness and Queavas eyes slowly shut and she drifted off to sleep. But her thoughts were not at rest and lots of worries were running around her mind  where was her locket?, was there really a key, what was inside the locket and what did the lady mean when she said ” give me the locket or you will regret it”?
