Crabamander

Crabmander

Prologue

You’ve probably been to Seaside hotel in Troon. In summer, you have probably visited the rockpools and dipped in the sea. When you would of came here you would probably see the epic slide next to the swimming pool, the nice relaxing spa and an ice cream van for the younger ones.

But in winter, you would of probably saw the bitter nasty wind pushing the rain to the ground very heavily. You  should try being there when the rooftops are covered in snow, you should try being there when icy icicles hanging on to the gutters and you should try being there when the pure white roads are covered in snow. The locals don’t even talk about the hotel and don’t go know anywhere near it for a good reason…

Chapter 1

My name is Harrison Purple and I work in the Seaside hotel. Most people call me Harry. I am the hotels cleaner. I sweep the floors, polish the windows and tidy and clean at the end of the day. Someone once told me that my job must be so boring however I like it. I have got a little room to myself with a cosy box bed, I have got a small campfire to keep me warm in the winter. In the winter nights I tend to be lonely a lot because nobody really visits, but in the day I am always filled with stuff to do with visitors.

A girl taps on the window loudly and hisses, “Let me in!” I stared at her curiously and frighted, her red eyes fixed at me. I didn’t know what to do it was late and who would come at the hotel at this time? But I had to let her in at this time she was almost about to freeze or pass out because it was so chilly, so I did.  She  immediately says “hide me!”

Before I continue with what happens next, there is one disturbing tale about our town that I have to tell you. This happened long ago no one remembers a good vision or any decent details about this. Local legends say a monster comes out of the sea and escapes the beach and travels through the streets of Troon lurking for someone that looks tasty, hunting for food and exploring through the town. This creature is a variety of Mander known as a Crabmander, it had a tall figure long spikes all over its body, slim crab claw arms for hunting. The Crabmander is closely related to crabs it walks like a crab it kills its prays with those long claws. Also the locals have reported to have seen recently the Crabmander lurking about the streets. If anyone sees or hears this creature they lock up there windows and doors.

Some say the creature is harmless and must have been in pain. Some say the creature was searching for food. Some say the creature was looking for something important. I disagree with all. In my 10 years of working here I have never seen it next to the Seaside hotel when we are right next to the beach. It’s up to no good.

“Why do you need to hide” I asked back. “What is the matter anyway?”

“I have seen it.” ” The tales were true.” “Look sharp draw the curtains now!”
