The attack
Prologue
You’ve probably been to Wonder-On-Sea. In the summer, you probably dug sandcastles and sprinted into the waves which were warm, with family. Splashed into the sea whilst letting your dad rest. This is the place you would eat Ice-cream ; it’s that place in the summer. When your Nan and Grandad were laying on the deckchairs…
But in Winter it’s a whole different story. You probably felt the high winds flowing through the sea. The sandcastles would turn into mudcastles. You should try being there when the dark and gloomy fog drifts through the town because barely any locals visit the beach then ; most of them say they have a very good reason.
Chapter 1
My name is Tootsie Kat and i work in the nearest sweet shop to Wonder-On-sea (near the magnificent pier). Most people call me Toots I am the main worker in Gumdrops Galore. I make almost every delicious sweet that we sell. Someone once told me that it must be a bad job but it isn’t because it’s fun and enjoyable you also get paid well for what you do. Sometimes I sleep in the little room so I won’t be late for the next day.
An old employee that retired years ago knocked on the door wanting me to ‘let him in!’. I didn’t know what to do because it was 1 am and the shop was closed. I was so hotI slipped a window open and there he was climbing through the window. He stares at me then asks me to hide him whilst he sleeps. ‘’ Hide me!’’
Before I resume with what happens next, there is one story about this town that I’ll tell you. It happened awhile ago that only one person remembers the date and only a little detail. The local Legend says that it was Violet Parma getting attacked near Mrs Fossil’s shop. The little detail he remembers is that it was a dark and gloomy day. The detail of the attack is that she got grabbed by her shirt and then slamdunked to the floor by a strange shark thats named sharkamander.
Some say that the creature must have been in pain or searching for food. As it was growling as loud as possible. Most say his attack is always at midnight.
‘Why do you need to hide?’ I hiss back at him. “What’s the matter?”
“I’ve seen it.” he says, “Look sharp-draw the curtains!”
