chapter one leaving the warren
Chapter 1 – Leaving the Warren
That evening, the alarm went off, which meant that we were in danger and this time it was a different sound. Acorn Warren was being invaded by the Gorm. Death was on the doorstep. The old warren’s tunnels were cold and damp. Its walls were partly collapts. Its rooms would never survive an attack from the Gorm.
So was that three little rabbits, Piekin, Pud and Peak, left home. Their journey to safety would take at least a week but first they would have to go through Thorn Bush and sharp stone. Even the Gorm could not enter that mighty Warren ,which is surrounded by really big puddles that were put thousands of years ago and only the Bards could get in. As soon as the rabbits arrived at their destination they would surely be safe. Other rabbits from their warren had chosen to travel somewhere else. Luckily, Piekin, Pud and Peak had been given a large camouflage compass that if you tell it where to go it will show the way.
Holding on to the compass really tight. The little group of rabbits had to trail through thorn Bush. It was so sharp and scary, Peak was very frightened. This Bush has deadly snakes in it and killer flowers. It was dark and haunted. They were making their way to safety. It was really hard for Peak because he was getting tired.
Remembering to hold Peaks hand they kept trailing along .Trying to keep in Pud’s footsteps , making it a game for Peak but it was soon before he started to get cold paws. It was a very hard journey.
That gloomy night, they had grass soup with a slice of carrot bread, Which had carrots in it and a leaf that their mother had given them. Peak would have soon been asleep. But at least we had arrived at colour warren which meant they were at their safety spot.
