Freya was living with her parents in their childhood house happily (although her parents had always been looking for a new house). One early morining, out of the blue Freya’s mother had wanted to have a chat with Freya about a new house that was on sale and that they where going to move in. It was at a cheap price and it was bigger and better than the one they where living in. That wasn’t what Freya wanted though she had lived in her childhood house for 13 and a half years now! She thought that it was the perfect size and the perfect type it didn’t need to be any bigger or smaller it didn’t need to be any better because it was amazing the way it was. Nothing could of replaced it ever!
One night as she starring out of her window her life in their house flashed by her eyes memory by memory each time she had blinked. Moving was the last thing she ever wanted to. She knew that she would have to move to a new school, meet new people, find new hangout places, new parks. It was like erasing her whole life and starting again but as a teenager.
The weeks grumbled on and her parents talked less and life was focused on packing. As her mother walked passed her room holding a box that said ‘fragile’. She popped her head into Freyas room and said with a sweet tone” 2 more weeks until we move Freya isn’t it exciting?” Freya lashed out at her mother “No it isn’t exciting. You’ve not even talked to me about anything! What school am I going to go to!? What friends am I going to have left!? You’ve not told me anything and I’m sat here broken! A mess! Not knowing a single thing about what’s going to happen in my new life!!” Her mother dropped the box and ran over. She had comforted her but Freya wasn’t having it she’s pretended that everything was OK for so long that she didn’t realise how messed she had become and how attached she is to their house.
It was late at night and the moon shon a glimmering light across the sky, when Freya had realised it may be good to restart and find somewhere else to make new friends and start a happier new life. She knew now that it was best for herself and her parents if they moved. She knew she shouldn’t be selfish and make them not move just she doesn’t want to.
Throughout the night she went back and forth on why it may be a good thing for her to move and why it isn’t a good thing for her to move. She went on to making a ‘pros’ and ‘cons’ list.
-She wanted to keep her old friends,
but it would also be better for her to go out and make new ones.
-Her new school would be good for her because she could try out different things and have a fresh start on what she was doing in her old school.
By the end of the night her discussion with herself had ended and she made up her mind to try things out and not lash out to people as much as she had. Then with a clear mindset she got as much sleep as possible.
The morning after she woke up for school tired out of her mind, despite that she got up with a smile knowing she was ok and knowing that it was only a week till she was moving.
Little did she know that all along she was right about not wanting to move,
“Moving is the last thing they needed to do”…
