Persuasive letter

Dear Amanda,

I am writing to you to not give up your terrific superhero life and to continue fighting for our city.

My first point is that for last couple of months your salary has gone through the roof. The rest of your family are very proud to see their daughter achieving these massive goals. Won’t your family struggle with the bills? Do you want your family will have to be put into a council building so you can be looked after? Why wouldn’t you help your own city, with all these crimes? There is no one else that can reach your outstanding records as a superhero. I would also like to argue that you deserve to be an all-time star more than anyone else.

Furthermore, I am concerned that your grades will drop into the earth’s core but if you continue be that first class superhero, me and my team will try our best get the best piece of extra credit for each subject. Plus, you are the closest person to getting the honoured scholarship. You have also achieved many medals from competitions with the school P.E department team.

To build on this concern, I would like to point out that many people are concerned you will stop being the best fighter and questions are flying in through the post to the government about who will be brave and capable enough to fight for our country. On the other hand, man people argue that you should stop because you are just making a fool of yourself and that they are capable of fighting themselves and they don’t need a super heroes help. This is not correct, you are capable of fighting these massive crimes.

To summarise, we should you stop your amazing career and think you can’t keep up with these crimes continuously. Go out there and be the best you can be. Occasionally, we will offer vacations for breaks so you don’t over work.

Yours Sincerely,

Agent Smith

If my cat could talk what would he say

If My Pet Could Talk

If my cat could talk he would probably yell at me until he was fed because when I go to feed him he meows every second! So that was one of the reasons I could not get to sleep because there was a constant meow ringing in my ear for hours. Now back to, if he could talk what would he say? First thing he’ll say “Can you feed me?” Secondly he said “Where’s my food it’s not on my plate?. Lastly, he then asked ” when is dinner time? ” You just had it, stupid cat.

A text message to his mum, from the Prime Minister

The Prime Minister sent a text to his mum. The text said “what time will dinner be mum?”

She replied “18:30.”

“BUT I DON’T FINISH WORK UNTIL 20:30.” The Prime Minister texted furiously!

“Do you want me to get angry, son?” She replied

The Prime Minister texted ” No thanks, mum”

But because the Prime Minister had put up with his mum, he turned his phone off and sat it in his drawer. Then, he got up and got a coffee, so he can finish his work quickily. Unfortunately, his mum just kept texting and texting.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Monica woke with a panic; the cat dozed on.

Outside, she could hear loud voices seeping in

through the window. Glaring through a gap,

she could just make out a group of alerted

guards Monica nudged the cat awake. He lay

in the darkness and glanced up at her with

his warm, beautiful eyes. She put her finger

to his mouth to indicate that they should be

silent. Sharp voices howled commands; the

cat let out a throaty meow; Monica gasped.

They tip-toed across the dirty floor, Monica

signalled to the wolf. Quietly, he padded

towards her. Ducking down, they hid behind

a pile of machinery. Carefully, Monica

tugged a huge piece of tarp across the

machinery so hopefully no one should find

Them.

At that moment, someone entered the school.

There was a pause, nothing moved. A light

flickered; furniture shifted and someone

began to search. Risking a glance, darkening

shadows moved. A wintry wind slipped

through the smashed window. Shivered,

Monica cuddled into the warmth of the cat’s fur.

They could wait and move on once the guards

had left.

It seemed like hours, but it possibly had only

been forty-five minutes by the time the guards

had left. It was the afternoon now and in the

darkness, the cat spoke to Monica… without

Speaking. Their minds had almost seemed as one

as he explained that he had to reach the gateway.

A gateway back to her own land where she

would not be followed.

Monica had an idea that possibly the gateway

was part of the town borders where there was a

huge stone arch that had once been fitted with

an arch gate. Nervously, she checked his wound.

It still bled; he seemed weaker. The town walls

could be a long walk… and dangerous. She

wondered whether they would make it or not.

Monica knew that her family would be worried

but there was nothing she could do but be safe.

She had to find the gateway before thinking

about getting home to her family. So it was that

only the moon and the stars saw two slim

shadows, a girl and a cat, slip through the creepy

alleyways heading across town. They made their

way, street by street, avoiding checkpoints,

they were locked in a deadly game of cat and

mouse.

The Unknown Visitors

The Unknown Visitors

It all started when an UFO invaded earth.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. A big, silver

wide thing. So, I had made a choice to

right a letter to these unknown visitors

saying…

Dear Unknown Visitors,

My name is Lenna Mackenzie and I am the

president of Scotland. I would like to know

who you are and see if we could maybe meet

up at Edinburgh Castel at noon. We can

have a chat. Although it might be a bit hard

to understand but I will try my best to

understand. I hope to see

you soon.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Outside, the rain battered against the windows

and thunder rumbled overhead. Inside, Monica

tip-toed through the abandoned building,

looking hopelessly for somewhere to hide.

Rubbish scattered, old wood stacked at crazy

angles and scrap equipment lay scattered.

Behind her, the strange man stood creepily in

the shadows, a shiny knife glittered in his hand.

Monica gulped…

… but at that second, something hissed, louder

than bells ringing. Out of the darkening shadows,

Not one but two green eyes appeared, a flash

of detailed fur and sharp white teeth. Whatever

it was, bolted past Monica and stood tall between

her and the man.

It was huge and had a pattern along it’s back.

Monica realised that she was standing beside a

Massive Maine Coon. It stepped back and

meowed loudly. In that moment, the man had

made a run for it. Monica stayed embedded to

the spot, shook by fear.

The Maine Coon turned and sat in front of Monica,

resting his head on the ground. She could see that

he was wounded. A swipe of red ran across his

side. She has never been so close to a huge creature

before. He could smell the damp walls and watched

as his fur rippled.

They glazed intently at each other and Monica felt

that he was sizing her up, seeing deeper and deeper

into her very being. But, her fear began to fade

and held out her hand. He leaned his head forwards

and sniffed. Then licked her skin, with a pink

sandpaper tongue. His eyes glazed with warmth.

He could see kindness but also a dip of sadness.

It was then he spoke. A low, crumbly voice that

seemed to jump from the ground itself. It was a

voice of worriedness and rain. “I need your help

now,” he slowly said. “We must find the gates.”

Monica stared back, her head nodding as if she

Understood. She knew that moment she would

do anything to protect this huge, beautiful creature.

Anything. “They will be back” said the Maine Coon,

“so I must hide.”

Half an hour later, Monica and the cat had crept

through the streets, down to the old school by the

seaside. No one had ever dared to enter there.

Rumour had it that the ghosts of the spirit haunted

the building but that last summer Monica had

made an entry. She often sat inside watching the

dolphins flash across the water’s edge. The cat curled

up in a dark corner and slept. Monica kept watch.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

It was a windy evening in February. The cherry

blossoms bloomed and covered the streets of Troon.

A few streetlights flickered, casting shadows in

the alleys where anything might be hidden.

Monica MacKenzie ignored the wind. She was staring ahead

at the checkpoint. Monica held on to her hat tight

as the wind swept the sand down Golden Trout Alley.

She could see the soldiers checking people’s passes,

turning most of them back from the border between

Troon and Arran, where the snow stayed.

“Next in line please” exclaimed the guard, waiting

patiently for the next person. He held out a black

gloved hand and Monica handed over her pass.

“Where are you headed, young lady?” he snapped,

with anger.

“I’m taking a cake round to a customer for

my mum,” Monica replied, smiling firmly. The guard

checked the pass and curtly nodded his head.

Monica went past the guard and got on the ferry.

A while later, Monica had jumped off the ferry.

Here the streets are cleaner, shop lights shimmers

the displays and the people chattered as if they

didn’t mind about the people around them. How

Monica wished that she was like them and not a

foreigner in her own land.

Taking a short cut down melody lane, Monica

lowered her head, minding her own business. Head

down, keep out of trouble. Her mum always

drummed that into her head.

She swung round as a man that she hadn’t noticed

before, quickly approached, pulling her arm and tugging

her into the shadows at the side of the alley.

“I’ll be taking that,” he murmured, grabbing Monica’s

parcel. There was a pause. “Plus any cash that you have!”

Monica had ducked down and stomped on the man’s shoe

and ran down up the alley, squeezing through a

small gap. But the end was blocked by an enormous brick

wall, making Monica cornered.

The man’s shadow cast through the gap towards Monica.

It had seemed to stretch out and hold him in his coat of

arms. Monica gasped. She could see the man’s eyes full

of greediness, as he shuffled forwards towards Monica.

Then noticed a small window tucked behind a bunch of

barrels and a moment later he was inside.

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

why is your tail so bushy?

It’s like a soft pillow.

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

what kind of insects and

birds do you chase?

Why can’t you just leave

the poor animals alone?

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

why do your eyes seem

so fierce as you climb

the tree?

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

Why are your paws as

white as snow?

Why are your claws like

sharp daggers?

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

Why do you repeat your

meow when you are alone?

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

Why are you so hungry

all the time?

You are just like a

seagull by being so greedy.

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

is it true you have a catnip

addiction?

Maine Coon, Maine Coon,

why are you so fluffy?

How is it not tuggy?
