Lizzie hesitated she didn’t know exactly why she was going on this journey but her mum had planned it out for her since she was a baby. She was about to step onto the ship when her mum pulled her back, “What-“ her mum cut her of, “This is for when it is your birthday,” she mumbled, “But it isn’t my birthday for six months” Lizzie whispered back her mum shook her head “your going to be gone for at least one year”
“WHAT?!” I shouted whoops to loud now everyone was now staring at her with questioning eyes “Come on your going to be late” her mum spoke in a soft voice as Lizzie stumbled onto the ship and waved good bye to her mum as she disappeared into the mist.
It had been three days now since she had left and Lizzie clutched on to the railings. She stared into the distance when she heard a rattle she looked around and it came again it sounded like it was coming from the box of food on the ship. She rushed over she didn’t want anyone steeling her food. She opened it up and nothing. Nothing was gone except from a half eaten sandwich. She looked behind the box and there was Harry her one of her friends she’d known since she was born. “What are you doing here?” he looked up at her and climbed out from behind the box “I wanted to come with you…” Lizzie was actually glad to have some company because she didn’t really want to go alone but if she could choose she wouldn’t choose, Harry to come with her. “it’s okay I actually wanted some company” Lizzie softly mumbled “really?” asked Harry “yes but come on it is getting dark so we should get some sleep” said Lizzie.
It was the morning and Lizzie was feeling a bit more confident. She stared over the edge at the dark sea. Harry had only just woken up and was having his breakfast. Lizzie realised that no one was flying the ship! She rushed over to the wheel but too late the ship was rushing down at an alarming speed she tried to pull it up but SPLASH! They had crashed into the freezing cold water luckily the ship could float and it was good that it was water not land because otherwise it would of broken! She rushed over to Harry to see if he was okay “are you okay?” he was more interested in his sandwich than anything “yes” he mumbled through a mouthful of sandwich as they sailed through the dark scary sea.
Lizzie looked in to the distance to see if she could see any land whilst Harry munched through all the food “hey, Lizzie what’s this doing here?” Harry shouted across the ship he held up a fishing rod “I don’t know my mum must of packed it for some reason, but it is good because we can catch fish now and then we won’t run out of food” Lizzie was now excited because Harry kept stuffing his face with all the food and he didn’t like fish and she did! Harry sighed “I don’t like fish!” lizzie laughed “well I am sorry but who chose to come with me?” Harry turned away to look through the telescope “hey Lizzie come look at this!” Lizzie rushed over and looked through and she could see land! “Let’s sail there!” shouted Harry Lizzie nodded and they set of on the journey.
It was a Saturday and they were near the land. It was Harry’s turn to sail the ship and while Lizzie caught some fish. She had court an old hat, a chunk of wood, a plastic bottle and lots more junk. Harry was always complaining that we should throw it back but Lizzie new that she would probably kill some fish bye doing that. Lizzie was deep in thought un till she felt a tug on the fishing rod she quickly pulled it up and there lay a small brightly coloured fish. It’s scales shimmered in the sun light .She picked it up and scales clattered to the ground she picked up the scales and put the in her pocket “hey Harry look at this I caught a fish!” Lizzie shouted across the ship Harry nodded looking impressed.
It was the next day and they had reached the land! Harry and I climbed out and tied up the ship and went to explore. They started to collect some sticks because they knew it would be night soon but they stayed close to each other. Lizzie collected the big sticks for a den and Harry collected the small sticks for a fire. They had finally collected enough sticks and found a perfect spot to settle down.
