Sharkmander
Chapter 2
I sit, waiting patiently for abit before I ask, “What did you see?”. Outside I heard the wind howling with the sprinkling rain ; it was the beginning of a bad storm. I had an idea of her claiming to have seen the Sharkamander.
Thirty minutes later, we are outside in the darkness, retracing footsteps. I knew we should’ve stayed inside my little office room. This old employee was the bossiest person I’ve met. The wind started pushing forwards, if it didn’t we would’ve got blown off our feet.
We pass the Rainbow Fish Bar, Miller’s ice cream parlour and Mrs Butcher’s Bucket and spade shop. All bordered up on the extreme storm with little cars parked.
The retired employee pulls me closer to the pier and there they are, the massive footprints. A few minutes, they heard a strange noise from under the pier. “What was that noise?” I asked. “ I don’t know” said the retired employee, ducking behind a pole.
Barely daring to breathe, we slid open a window in a Fish and Chips shop and climb inside. At that moment, the wind from the storm blasted the door shut so the glass shattered.
Outside, lightning tears open the sky. Inside, the sudden flash was letting us get a short glimpse of the Sharkmander. The sharkmander leaps, in the rush of air to the shop. There it was with its greedy, dark eyes with its growling teeth…
