Question Poem

What are loud? A scary lion’s roar, a giant’s heavy footstep and a see-through window shattering.

What are quiet? A person writing,a human sleeping and a cat’s footsteps.

What are soft? A pug’s fur, a comfy pillow and a memory foam mattress.

What are hard? Bullet proof glass, freshly mined diamonds and running fast in the hot sun.

What are hot? The bright yellow sun, my mum’s oven when she is cooking dinner and the kettle as it boils.

What are cold? A freezer full of ice cubes, a dog’s wet nose and the cold breeze on a winter’s day.

What are smooth? A slab of metal, a table with a melamine surface and a mouse pad on a laptop.

What are rough? Bumpy roads in the countryside, a zip’s teeth and rocks on a mountainside.

What are?

What are glossy? A chunk of metal glistening in the sun, a polished diamond shining in its case and the kitchen counter gleaming in the sun.

What are dull? The off white wall sitting in despair, a brown potato waiting to be used and a birch wood frame.

What are booming? A baby’s cry at the chime of midnight , Frankie shouting when he knows he shouldn’t be and an aeroplane’s engine getting ready to leave.

What are silent? A green leaf descending to the floor, a library with many people and a blobfish eating seaweed in the deep sea.

What are delicate? A bright white cloud ,a venus fly trap spreaded on the table and a crying infant at the day of birth.

What are durable? A graffitied wall ,a light brown table being used every day and the freshly cut wood laying on the floor.

What are sharp? Newly sharpened knives , mum’s recently done nails and rusted screws at ground level.

What are blunt? Old knives that are in the bin, the hit on my mum’s car and an ancient blade dying in the rocks.

What are…..

What are loud? A German Shepherd’s long distance cry, my dad after he forgets to lock up his tool shed, and Forest Academy’s bell going off once lunch is over.

What are mute? The summer breeze blowing yellow daffodils in the Thetford fields, a sheepdog after a long, restless day of work and a butterfly looking for delicious nectar.

What are soft? A fluffy calve’s fur at Little Lodge farm, a newborn baby’s teddy bear and my hair after a long, refreshing shower.

What are hard? Year five spelling questions, a seven hundred page book in Santon Downham library and Dwanye Johnson’s muscles.

What are hot? Chilli heatwave crisps from Tescos, a dragon’s boiling breath and my teachers love for David Beckham.

What are cold? A spoon full of chocolate flavoured ice cream from the freezer, a broken heart inside a forgotten person and your face after playing out in the snow.

What are smooth? A new rubber from the cupboard in Elder class, polished wood from my grandad’s workshop and a new english book’s first pages.

What is rough? Velcro from my nan’s knitting set, the feeling of rubbing your fingers against a giraffe’s neck and  the edge of my desktop at home.

What are?

What are blunt? The used blade of a battle sword, the front bumper of my mum’s Volkswagen and the top of a pinecone.

What are sharp? A spike piercing through an intruder, a butter knife slicing through butterfat and the pointy claws of my Ragdale cat.

What are smooth? The featureless pebble at the bottom of the lake, the soothing skin of a baby and the wood underneath the bark of a tree.

What are rough? The irregular rocks up mount Everest, the jaggy bark of a sycamore and the metal jagged ironspike from Podkin One-Ear.

What are delicate? My mum’s ornaments on the mantelpiece, the fancy plates from Home Bargains and the wine glasses from a deluxe restaurant.

What are durable? The enclosed wall of a nuclear bunker, an oak tree towering over and a boulder on Mount Snowdon.

What are spongy?  The carpet of moss on the forest floor, the mouldy apple in my fruit basket and my memory foam mattress.

What are solid? A painted concrete wall, a bar of 24 carot gold and a glacier barging through ice.

What are …

What are loud? A crane scooping gravel, my tummy at twelve o’clock and the blue sea against huge boulders.

What are quiet? The tiptoe of a mouse, a baby eating its favourite food and a dog when it gets home from a nice long walk.

What are soft? A newly washed blanket, labrador’s fur and my fluffy white pencil case from smiggle.

What is hard? A new basketball, a book with seven thousand pages and Forest Academy’s quizzes.

What are hot? An oven on Christmas day, a metal water bottle left in the sun and my face on a summer’s day when I forgot to put suncream on.

What are cold? Crunchy snow, my fingers after having a snowball fight and an ice lolly that has been left in the freezer too long.

What are smooth? My hand after putting hand cream on, a new glue stick from Elder class cupboard and the screen on my mum’s laptop.

What are rough? Sanding paper, the back of a Chromebook and an elephant’s skin.i

What are quiet? Wind shaking the grass, a river flowing and a rowing boat on the ocean.

What are soft? A woolly blanket, a new bed sheet and a bear’s fur.

What are hard?  A bed without its mattress, dried up magma and a bank vault.

What are hot? Red hot lava, boiling water and the heat of a roasting oven.

What are rough? The top of a laptop, a pebble floor and a rubber in my pencil case.
