Chapter 2

Chapter

“My name is Mr Lucire,” he said glaring at Lilly. Lilly started to head for the door. “This is MY book of amazements, but don’t open it again ever again!!!” Mr Lucire said with a stern voice.

A bit later, he waved his hand and disappeared behind the curtain. Lilly had to open the book now. As she turned the pages she came across a blank one. Something was begging her to speak to it. So she started to talk. “You see a muddy path that leads to a ladder attached to a tree if you go up theres a massive tree house,” she also said the thing she desired the most. After that, she saw a glowing line start to appear Lilly feels obliged to follow it. Lilly finds herself at a red door she turns the handle and takes a step in.

As she steps in Lilly take a deep breath and hears Capuchin monkeys scream, parrots chirp, and elephants toot. Just as Lilly had said there was a muddy path, she walked along it and could just about see a ladder in the distance.

The anything emporium.

Prologue

Man hasn’t discovered everything. The anything emporium was like this.

Even though, come spring the scent chocolate eggs of all colours and size would make your mouth duel as you walked passed. Even though books of wisdom, character and unusual, unbelievable stories waiting to be told were sat there. Even though, potions, remedies of craziest scents were there.

No one ever came. The jet black door frame and ebony handle the unwelcoming onyx shadows lurking around the corner scared anyone away. Except Lilly…

Chapter 1

Every day Lilly would walk past your mysterious building one Monday morning the door was open a crack. Lilly pulled back the door and stepped in.

Everywhere she looked it made her gasping wonder. She could see a bat hanging from the jewel embedded baby mobile. As she peered up to watch the nimble bats set off, Lily noticed the milky way like ceiling and bright bulging walls. Lilly glanced up at a book, filled with childhood memories and precious secrets. She stared up in wonder, at the beautiful hand-painted china doll and a small antique pram. Lilly gazed at a shelf of peculiar potions, seagrass and lime, raspberry and lemon powder. She herd continuing chirps of canaries, benevolent buzzing bees and musical melodies. But, the thing that caught her attention was a brown leather book. While Lilly turned thr pages, her head was overwhelming with ideas.

“I see you have been enjoying the read of my Book Of Amazements.” Lilly jumped and clamped the book shut. She peered up at the tall man and took a wild guess that it was the owner. Sat on his shoulder was the bat. When the man smiled, his teeth glistened like pearls.
“The shop was closed,” the man said trying to sound polite.
“Oh, but the door was open,” Lilly said, beginning to sweat.

unicorn fact file

The volcano unicorn is a beautiful creature with a delicate horn that is a mini volcano, and when it erupts it dies the fur of the creature bright red. When the lava mixes with water turns in to hot magma. It has hoofs made out of coal and wood that when around fire start to burn and destroys everything it touches. Its main and silky tail are made out of scorching hot fire. You can easily tell the female from the male as their bodies are pure black with streaks of lava running down their bodies. During recent lockdown periods, it has been spotted in more urban areas including a recent bonfire on Warble Road.

The volcano unicorn’s habitat is just as hot as the creature itself and as you may guess is a volcano, Mount Vesuvius to be exact. It is said that the great eruption of 79 Ad was just the mother unicorn giving birth; the volcano unicorn gives birth to hundreds of babies every decade. As deadly as this creature’s home seems it is actually very welcoming, and if its cold out they always have the heating on so you don’t catch a cold. Many people refer to them as the shooting star of the land as they role around while on fire making a shooting star effect, so next time you think you are wishing on a star it might just be the volcano unicorn flying past to say hello.

The volcano unicorns have many hobbies like: juggling, eating fire, drinking tones of hot sauce, lighting fire pits and melting things. These creatures may sound friendly but you must be extremely cautious around them as humans are seen as a threat and when they are threatened they explode with fire and they activate their lasers that can and will destroy anything in their path. Let’s keep these graceful and bold creatures safe for future generations.

The Forest Unicorn

The Forest Unicorn

By Martha N

The Forest Unicorn is a beautiful majestic creature. However there is a slight flaw to being so beautiful this is a key reason why Forest Unicorn is hunted .As well as being able to restore life into animals and plants as well as being able to provide special amounts of oxygen. This is the reason why the Forest Unicorn is on the brink of extinction.

Can I see a Forest Unicorn? Did you say well hear are a few things on what Forest Unicorn looks like . Well it has a beautiful flower crown around it’s leaf like ears and it has roses braided into its silver mane. With diamonds as its teeth and a tail like a water fall with white silk fur and  foliage on its wings and finally glimmering translucent hoves that give it the power make flowers flourish were ever it walks.

The habitat of the Forest Unicorn is  in thick forest to help them hide from hunters, They can also be found near water falls and in tree tops the last person that spotted this creature was in 1960 and they were never seen again. If you want to find this creature you should know what they eat. They eat wild rhubarb, wild blueberries and nuts with ferns.

Please be warned even though this creature sounds all good thoughts who are tempted to touch it shall be turned into

A stone statue.

What is …?

What is cold ? A crows gaze , a icy lake , a shoulder .

What is warm? A teacher’s smile, hope and happiness.

What is hard ? A broken heart and bulletproof glass.

What is heavy? A tear , a drop of rain and a sorrow.

What is light? A feather, and a heart .

opposites attract poem

What is delicious? Donuts fresh from Krispy Kreme, strawberries picked fresh from the orchard on comb lane and squishy toasted marshmallows sandwiched between the chocolate biscuits from the corner store.

What is disgusting? Brussel sprouts covered in chilly powder, mashed up bananas in gravy and chocolate covered bugs found in Fish Ponds Wood not far from my house.

What is ferocious? A lion glaring at you from its cage in the zoo, the stare your mother gives you when she asks to see your report card and an eagle circling the sky searching for its prey.

What is gentle? My pet dog when I come home after school or a long walk, a small mouse I found hiding in cupboard under the stairs and a balloon floating off into the sky making peace with the clouds above.

What is beautiful? The sound of the booming sea in Norfolk, the birds singing their harmonic song in your ear making you hum along and the bright stars decorating the dark sky.

What is ugly? My face after I put my Halloween make up on, a potato with all of its knobbly spiky skin and my sisters face after letting me do her make up.

What are?

What are pretty?

A group of daffodils dancing in the wind of serenity, beautiful blue butterflies and a turquoise teddy cuddled up under a baby blue blanket.

What are cold?

An amazing smooth chocolate ice cream, a frosty fence at the front of school and a lions heart when it is all alone.

What are hot?

A sunny day, a red hot sand and a cake when it has just come out of the oven.

What are empty?

A cardboard box, a lonely leopards heart and a juice bottle after you have just drank it.

What are shiny?

A million dollar diamond, a piece of glistening brand new piece of glass and a piece of cold ice.

If I were a door- by Martha

If I were a yellow door,
I would lead you to,
Paths of pansy petals,
The scent of lemon tea,
Or shelves of bees honey.

If I were a red door,
I would give you,
Ruby red roses,
Bight ripe cherry’s,
Or freshly baked red velvet cakes.

If I were  a blue door
I would show you,
Shining seaside shells,
Fields of fairy thimble flowers,
Or blue wales dancing in the depths.

If I were a green door,
I would sing you,
A budgie’s sweet call,
A mantis’s melody,
Or a cricket’s continuing chirp.

If I were a purple door,
I would give you,
A bright basket of alliums,
Washed up mermaid scales
Or fresh lavender grapes.

If I were a pink door,
I would lead you to,
Fields of tulips,
A summer’s sunset,
Or cherry blossom falling.

In the magical Emporium- by Martha

In the room of cards
I chased Aces all day.

In the room of trees,
I climbed up to the land of spells.

In the room of mirrors,
I saw my hearts one desire.

In the room of suns,
my skin became as red as roses.

In the room of plants,
my hair transformed into vines.

In the room of oceans,
I mutated into a mermaid.

I want to paint…

I want to paint…

I want to paint a day at the beach, staring out in to the peach sunset that fills the sky, while the seagulls fly by.

A twisting, terrible, troubling sea, that constantly confounds my confusion and lulls me into its lucid lullaby.

I want to paint the sand, like grains of rice small as the hairs on your head.

A ferocious wind that grabs me playing with me like a doll.

I want to paint the chocolate cake, the moment I love before I wake, for the day at school so not cool.

A  creamy, crumbly, candy cake with eccentric, exciting, exclaiming decorations that satisfies my hungry belly.

I want to paint the gooey filling, like jelly and jam as sticky as gum

A delicious flavor that takes over my body
