You are poem…… By Maya
You are a bright ball of light brightening up the dim night sky.
You are the smell of a juicy orange squirting out sour loveliness.
You are a sweet scone bursting with fresh curdling cream and strawberry jam.
You are the sound of brass bells ringing through the night.
You are the shadow of a zombie dripping with raspberry red blood.
You are a courageous cat scrapping the wall with your claws.
You are a careful clock ticking away in time with your pulse.
You are a determined dictionary blossoming with wonderful words and fantastical phrases.
You are a delicate stain glass window full of beautiful colours.
You are the taste of a sour sweet sizzling in a mouth full of marvels.
You are a teacher telling a class about a new tricky topic.
You are a curious girl discovering new and wonderful things about your past.
You are a scientist working away in a lab discovering new concoctions.
You are a jewel getting found by a ponged pirate.
You are a cloud full of water ready to be popped.
You are the end of time!
Hi there, Maya, I really enjoyed reading your poem, maybe a bit on the long side. My favourite line was – You are a determined dictionary blossoming with wonderful words and fantastical phrases.

Hello Maya! I really enjoyed reading your poem. I adored the scone idea and I could just see that cream and jam!
I thought the stained glass window was a lovely idea. I wondered what a ponged pirate was – my class had some fantastic ideas!
